"Home away from home"

10.0

The staff were very friendly and efficient. Everything was outstanding from the comfort of my huge bed to the absolutely perfect cleanliness of the bedroom, the great food in the restaurant and the amazing help from reception. Location is in a lovely neighborhood within easy walking distance to Nevsky Prospect and the underground. Breakfast is huge and healthy. I stayed two weeks and was very sad to leave.

"Great Value"

10.0

Hotel Vera is within walking distance of the Moscow Station, and the No 5 bus route (and others I can't remember) stops outside the hotel and runs all the way up Nevsky Prospekt, so accessibility to the major locations in St Petersburg is simple and direct. The hotel with English-speaking and knowledgeable staff is a great value for money. Clean, quiet, with its own restaurant and bar, the hotel breakfast is standard buffet fare but good to start the day, and though in a quiet part of town you are minutes away from supermarkets, the post office, a few restaurants including the old Soviet era canteens called Stolovayar. I would definitely stay here again if visiting St Petersburg.

"Off the main street, but in a good way."

8.0

A nice little hotel a few blocks off of Nevsky near the train station. There's a bus stop across the street that has at least 3 trolleybuses that run the length of nevsky that operate late, so you're never stuck waiting too long. There are a couple of small shops nearby for staple goods. It's quiet at night, never felt sketchy. Even during Scarlett Sails, it was quiet here. The staff is very helpful, when they can be. Language can be an issue, but it wasn't too difficult to overcome. The room was clean and well maintained. Ours had an extraordinary amount of lights. The only thing that was a little annoying was that the tub was so large that the shower curtain never closed it in, so water got all over the floor every time we showered. Outside of that, I can't complain at all. I would absolutely stay here again.

"Nice location but comfortless staying"

6.0

The rooms are quite clean and the staff is friendly. Bathroom is fully equipped and you can get bathrobe and slippers. There is an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. However my stay was not enjoyable, I stayed in a mini-suite. (BTW,it's OK for one person or for a couple but not for "up to 3 persons") It was specified that the suite had "a separate living room are among the conveniences offered." Actually it's a bedroom with a small antechamber with a sofa. Antechamber could not be separated from the bedroom! I was alone, so it was OK. But there were other problems with my staying there. Many rooms in the hotel overlook the bustling street, Suvorovsky prospekt and the mini-suite was one of them. So I had to keep the windows closed all the time, which was not easy if you are taking into account that air conditioning can be regulated by ar eceptionist only! And btw your request should correspond to the other guests' wishes as the air conditioning system is mutual for the a few rooms on the floor. If it's become too hot or cold during the night you should get up and walk to the phone (as it's not next to the bed), call receptionist and wait while she gets to your floor and regulate it.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Overall, it was a great stay. The hotel was conveniently located next to public transportation and if you don't mind walking, it was a nice walk down Nevskiy Prospect to see some of the main sights. We had two small children with us and the set-up of the family suite was perfect for us.

"Look No Further - Excellent For The Price"

10.0

My stay at the hotel Vera was 6 nights. I picked it because of price, decent location, English speaking and good reviews. It did not disappoint on any front. Good value, extremely helpful staff - nothing too much trouble, comfy beds, clean rooms, air conditioning, tasty food reasonably priced, decent buffet breakfast, convenient location 10 minutes from Nevsky Prospekt by bus. Even the music in the cafe was first rate! No downside! Highly recommended.
