The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale

I love everything. The only recommendation is better quality toilet paper.

As soon as I checked in, I was told that they gave me a free upgraded room. The better room was a partial ocean view. What confused me was I was already in a king full ocean view. They didn’t believe me so I had to pull out my reservation to show them that I had, indeed, booked a full ocean-view king. The bathroom in the room as nice, the room itself was outdated and the small balcony for my “full” ocean view had peeling paint and only a view to the east and south. The north was totally blocked by part of the hotel…so it wasn’t a full ocean view as described! Then we wanted to go to the beach. When we tried to go via the road overpass from the pool deck, we found out that the overpass was not available. No sign was posted to inform anyone except an out-of-order sign in front of the elevator. To seal the deal, when I arrived to my cruise ship and reviewed my final bill, I found that I was charged THREE times for parking! WHAT?!? I flew in! However, my brother did charge his parking to my room…but for one car (because that’s all he can drive at one time)! The person who answered the phone kept asking me if I was sure I didn’t park three cars there for the evening!! Breakfast at the restaurant was super-expensive for eggs and bacon! Save your money and walk the 3 blocks north to Starbucks and grab a breakfast sandwich for $5! All-in-all, a very disappointing stay! I booked here because the Ritz was one of my bucket-list hotels. It is now permanently crossed off that list as I will never consider staying at another one! Do yourself a favor; fly into Miami, stay at the InterContinental and Uber to Port Everglades! Much nicer hotel and you’ll even save money!

For what I would expect is a high quality hotel I am pretty surprised about how poorly the hotel is kept up and generally how lazy the housekeeping staff is. It was apparent that housekeeping hadn’t properly cleaned the room upon check-in - the toilet had toilet paper in it, the bath did not drain (it is also the shower so clearly they hadn’t run any water or they would know that). I found the razor cap on the side of the bathtub and the lamp/mirror in the bathroom was covered in rust. All in all, really disgusting. I spoke to the manager because the housekeeper who cleaned the room the following day left one hand towel and no bathmats. With a young child the last thing I wanted was for her to slip on the marble and get hurt. He was very apologetic and said it would be addressed asap. I came to the room 3 hours later to find that the bathmats had been brought but no hand towels. I don’t know if they were running low at the hotel but very annoying that it required multiple requests to get something so simple.

I have been going to Ritz hotels for 30 years. This property was nice, but it was not a Ritz experience. Honestly, I was very disappointed. The service was nice, but not Ritz. It other Ritz are going to this level of service and quality... well not in my book any longer.

Everything was A1. The staff deserves a raise because they were immaculate. The spa had the most wonderful staff. 100/100

We loved the overall staff at the hotel-pool, restaurant and the front door staff went out of their way to help you enjoy your stay

We had several issues with front desk. One we booked on booking.com and they did not honor the price. We had to ask 3xs for them to get a response both on the price issue as well as to get a fridge for our room. Usually expect a better response at this quality of a hotel. The manager finally handled it very professionally but wonder if the staff even told her about our issues.

Premium bedding. Staff exceptionally friendly. Room very spay and comfortable. Balcony is awesome! Great view.

The worst experience as the AC broke down within the first hour and instead of switching us out they tried to fix it which apparently was not fixable. The worst is that they charged us for this torturous experience as we are in middle of historic heatwave and not to furnish a room with AC is unconscionable. Motel would beat this hotel. Horrible hotel and I will never refer anyone to stay there. Shameful

Very overpriced hotel for the service . They add on so many extra fees without you being aware. The bill you receive when you check out is very different than what you have been charged so many hidden fees. They only have one restaurant bar and and pool grill. The staff is very bratty they look at their tips 10$ tip is not good enough for them when you valet your car ..
