Marina Lodge at Port Ghalib

First of all, this is not a luxury hotel. If you are looking for luxury, do not choose this hotel. on the other hand, it is a hotel with a pleasant, relaxed family atmosphere. The food selection is not very wide, but every day there is chicken, fish, beef, roasted vegetables, salads. It is particularly delicious. Everyone can find something suitable for themselves. There is always a free table and the waiters are very attentive. The beach is actually a 5-minute walk away, but the small bus also runs for those who don't want to walk. The water taxi to the Marina is a fantastic idea, we really enjoyed it, and it takes a maximum of 5 minutes. The "captain" is also a very nice person. A very cozy little hotel, constantly being renovated and expanded, I highly recommend it to those who want a quiet rest. The cleanliness is also fine, the rooms are cleaned every day, we always got something surprising. There is only 2 bottles of water in the minibar, if you want to drink, for example, cola, fanta... it costs extra and can be ordered from the bar. If we come back to this area, we will definitely come back to this hotel. we loved it very much.

The hospitality is extraordinary. First day we arrived just after lunch hours, after understanding we’ve not had lunch and would like some snacks, the hotel staff and chef made us a full table meal, from pasta to grilled aubergine and peppers - all super delicious. I’m vegetarian and since stepping into this hotel, all the chefs have said hi and introduced themselves to me, triple checking everyday to make sure I was satisfied with the food served. They always say to let them know if I want anything in particular and they’ll make for me. We also asked if there’s any guava fruits we could have, and Sammy the general manager of the hotel, brought a bag full of fresh guava just for us. The fruit was fresh and delicious - photo taken together with the fruit palette delivered to our hotel room in the evening.

Even if the hotel in reality is a big factory, it doesn't feel like.

The Marina Lodge cook refused to save my sinful western pagan soul by "halalising" my spaghetti tomato sauce. That sauce was diligently prepared following customised instructions. I wanted to upgrade it according to purest ancestral Italian tradition with some Egyptian white wine (all in) . He just ran away, notwithstanding the alcohol evaporating ENTIRELY, for the spiritual BENEFIT of myself and my culinary saviour as well. Do the Marina Lodge cooks really want their repentant pagan CLIENTS - diminishing their alcoholic consumption - to go to hell? I was already half on my way to become Allah's most humble servant .......

The price that provided by Booking is completely different that we're paid to the Hotel. the booking price was about 15,300 while the actual paid money requested by the hotel was about 20,000. Food quality is bad.
