Azulik - Adults Only

My sister came for a Mother’s Day visit. It was my gift to her, and we went to see the Mirador. It was pretty pricey. It was 1000 pesos, and it came with one cocktail and entrance to the Mirador. When we got there, it was so beautifully designed, I had a great view of the jungle and the ocean, and there was a DJ that made it a unique experience. The waiters were very attentive, and it was a very photogenic location. Perfect for sunset. We had dinner reservations elsewhere, so we didn’t get to eat there; and note that if you do decide to eat there, food is overpriced…however, if you want a great afternoon and a wonderful view, a one-of-a-kind experience, this is a must visit in Tulum.

⚠️ SERIOUS SAFETY WARNING ⚠️ I need to share this so no one else goes through what I did. I recently visited and was taking a tour for a group I was looking to bring in to the hotel. During an official tour of the property with the manager Edgar, I fell through a rotted/unsecured board and my legs were dangling in the air two stories up. As my friend and the manager stood there and watched, my legs were caught in a board over the jungle, I had to pull myself up by a palm tree that was growing out of the board while the board was ripping into my stomach which was bleeding badly. I now have a 8 inch scar in my stomach, and Will be scarred for life. My back and ankle were seriously injured. I hurt everyday. To their credit, staff did help get me out and transported me to the emergency room, and covered that initial visit. If I had of been unconscious, there would have been NO way to of been transported out of the resort. The moment doctors confirmed nothing was broken, the resort did their best to push me away, took me back to my car and later after contacting the manager, he claimed he needed to be offsite. I have all what’s app messages from them claiming no responsibility, all pictures of the broken board and their medic treating me. After now 8 whats app requests. No acknowledgment of what happened on their property. Complete radio silence. They offered me a complimentary stay for 2 nights like a weekend was going to make up For my pain and scarring. They would NOT even replace the 250.00 dress that was ripped up by the board. Here’s what I want every traveler to know: 🔴 “Nothing broken” does not mean “not seriously injured.” I am in significant pain and dealing with the aftermath of a very traumatic fall. 🔴 This resort has structural hazards that injured a guest during an official tour — and they are now avoiding all accountability. 🔴 If something like this happens to you, document EVERYTHING immediately — photos, videos, witness names, medical records, and any communications with the resort. I am sharing this publicly because guests deserve to know the safety risks are at this property and how this ownership handles incidents when they occur. Do your research before booking. Know you can be hurt very badly. It is a very dangerous place to stay. The only light at night is candlelight, there is no light in the rooms. if this had of happened at night. I could have been there stuck in the hole or worse. If you go, be very careful. And if you’ve had a similar experience at a resort in Tulum, please share — you are not alone. Stay safe out there. 🙏

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything is natural, close to nature, and the food is amazing. At the Elixik restaurant, the waiter, Cecilio, was the best; he was very kind and gave us a lot of information. It's hard for me to describe this place in words; you simply have to come and see it.

Booked Azulik for the “luxury Tulum experience.” What we got was cold service and zero follow-through. Assigned a personal concierge, Paola. At check-in, without us asking, she warned us breaking the door costs 5000 pesos. That was the last we heard from her. She replied to nothing. Requested ice from reception. Waited over 1 hour. No response. Walked to reception ourselves. Staff said she was “new, first day” and didn’t know anything. We had to go to the restaurant ourselves for ice and water. For a resort this famous and expensive, basic hospitality is gone. No warmth, no service, no accountability. *Verdict*: Feels purely commercial now. Big name, small performance. The downfall of Azulik seems to have started. There are better options in Tulum for half the price that actually care about guests. Stayed: 4 June 2026 Room Type: sky villa

Melanie was truly exceptional and made our experience at Azulik Tulum unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Her warmth, patience, and genuine kindness stood out immediately—she made us feel welcome, relaxed, and completely taken care of. No matter what we needed, Melanie was always there with a solution, handling every detail with ease and professionalism. She answered all our questions thoroughly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and never once made us feel rushed. Her calm and attentive approach made a huge difference, especially in a setting where there’s so much to explore and experience.

Property management help seemed nice but was bad service. Poor English reading/writing communication. Left feeling waste of time/money.

We had a great experience at Azulik overall, which is why this part stood out so much. A few nights ago, my wife and I brought friends to Kin Toh to show them the experience. Dinner was excellent, and we spent around $1,000 that evening. It felt special and lived up to the reputation. A couple of days later, we returned for the museum, which was also beautiful. Afterward, we stopped by the front desk and politely asked if it would be possible to briefly view the hotel, as I had been before and wanted to show it to my wife, with the intention of potentially staying in the future. The response was a firm and somewhat inflexible “no,” without any real effort to accommodate or even guide the conversation. For a place positioned as a luxury, experience-driven destination, that approach felt surprisingly rigid and out of place. It’s a small moment, but in hospitality, small moments define the overall impression. Especially after already engaging with the property at a high level, the lack of flexibility or warmth left a negative impression that contrasted sharply with the otherwise beautiful environment. Tulum has changed a lot over the years, and places that succeed long-term will be the ones that evolve not just aesthetically, but in how they treat people. Still a unique property, but service mindset matters and this is an area that could be improved.

Das Azulik ist ein architektonisches Erlebnis, ein Gesamtkunstwerk und es lohnt, sich dort eine Nacht zu verbringen, einfach um das gesehen/erlebt zu haben. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und außergewöhnlich eingerichtet und die Dachterrasse oberhalb des Restaurants ist sehr sehenswert.

Die Unterkunft ist umgeben von Natur, was einen Teil des Charms ausmacht, aber auch sehr viele Mücken mit sich bringt. In der Nacht ist es sehr laut (Naturgeräusche). Ich fand das Personal teilweise ziemlich arrogant und wenig kompetent. Zum Beispiel hat nicht jeder an der Rezeption ausreichend Englisch gesprochen und wenn man Fragen hatte, war nicht immer jemand erreichbar. Die Zimmer vorwiegend mit Kerzen zu beleuchten, ist, wenn man das hört, charmant, aber wenn man in seinem Zimmer ist (obwohl es auch elektrische Beleuchtung gab, diese aber wenig hell) sehr unpraktisch. Sollte man nach Sonnenuntergang noch etwas in seinen Sachen suchen wollen, wird das schwierig. Auf der das Dachterrasse, fand zumindest als wir dort waren, kein tolles Event statt. Es war zwar ein DJ da, aber nur wenige Gäste, und diese waren damit beschäftigt, sich selbst oder sich gegenseitig zu fotografieren. Getränke und Essen sind extrem teuer. Wir hatten das Frühstück dazu gebucht, welches eine Enttäuschung war. Nichts besonderes und sehr wenig, so dass man davon nicht satt werden konnte. Der Kaffee war schlecht. Cappuccino oder Ähnliches muss man extra bezahlen.

Very sad to see this kind of places, its amazing but prices AND the way they treat people its not nice
