Smiths At Gretna Green Hotel

Lovely staff. Breakfast and evening meal, both excellent. Beautiful spacious room. Comfortable bed. Would recommend.

It was very comfortable and cosy.

We had to check in to the main building and then drive again back to where the cottages were.. you needed to drive there because there was a car park for each cottage. That wasn't written anywhere to understand what you have to do. Furthermore the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable for sleep.. We had to sleep 3 in the main bed and my 12y old in the sofa bed.

From arriving at the hotel to leaving our whole experience was amazing. We were truly looked after during our stay. We stayed in the penthouse suite which has 2 balconies and a hot tub. The bed was huge. The room was clean as you would expect. Nothing to complain about. The staff were awesome and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect

Das Zimmer war recht geräumig, wie man es bei einem Familienzimmer erwarten darf.

Dies war unser letztes Hotel nach einer fast dreiwöchigen Rundreise. Wir stellen fest, je teurer das Hotel, je weniger Service. In jedem anderen Hotel stand z.B. ein Begrüßungsschluck Whisky auf dem Zimmer. Hier nicht. Dafür mußte ich knapp sieben Pfund für ein Bier an der Bar zahlen. Absolute Frechheit, der Preis. Das Schlafsofa war nicht benutzbar, weil man das Gefühl hatte, auf dem blanken Metall zu schlafen. Jede Strebe drückte sich unangenehm durch die Matratze. Selbst bei Fliegengewichten, wie unseren Kindern. Die Dusch-Trennwand ist so schlecht montiert, dass es nicht möglich ist, ohne Überflutung des Badezimmers zu duschen.

Breakfast was poor not at all value for money. Long queues as everyone had to fill their own plate self-service from a small counter. Orange juice had No Taste more like water.Black Puddlng was rubbish Would not stay again based on this.

The room was lovely. Nice view. And quite at night. Dinner was amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection. Big shout out to the chef on that night. 6/4/26

Found the pillows quite flat when sleeping .

Absolutely loved it here ! We just got married at the old Blacksmiths this weekend, we booked the platinum package through smiths and everything was perfect! Staff are so kind and friendly The Ash suite was outstanding The food was excellent Only minor disappointment was they had ran out of his and hers passport holder souvenirs! Definitely recommend this amazing 👏 hotel
