"Two cozy nights at the Holbrooke Hotel"

We spent two lovely nights at the Holbrooke. This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel. The high quality renovation preserved a lot of the historical details while updating the rooms and common areas. Restaurant and bar are great—bartenders are friendly and helpful and their cocktails are great. The Holbrooke is very well located if you’re visiting the Empire Mine State Park or Nevada City. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

"Lovely Stay in Grass Valley"

Lovely Hotel in an excellent location! Went to the Tinsel Tavern and the restaurant and stayed in a wonderful room with a balcony overlooking the street. Will definitely stay here again. Our room was decorated with a Christmas Tree... a nice holiday touch. Breakfast scones and Frittata were delicious but felt this offering for a lite breakfast was very lacking, even adding a fruit platter could have enhanced this experience. Parking was an issue due to Cornish Christmas. We will be back because we love this hotel so much!

"Loved the Holbrooke and hope to stay again one day"

Location is excellent and staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was exceptionally clean and simple but nicely furnished. Nice bedding. Robes upon requests were the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. Renovation is high quality and room temp was good. Loved having the bar, fireplace and restaurant right off the lobby.

Nice to offer coffee and scones in the AM and frittata is a great idea but coffee was cold by time we got to it and the frittata was sticking to the bottom of the pan and dried out. Not sure it’s necessary to offer more than coffee and tea unless the restaurant, which is good, manages the food and offers a bit more.

"Perfect Autumnal and Christmas Vibes"

King Suite, very comfortable, hotel had warm seasonal, autumnal and Christmas vibes going on. Comfortable bed. Some may not like clawfoot bathtubs, but that's the deal at this hotel. Staff is always very engaging and helpful.

"The place to stay in Grass Valley!"

Great hotel with the classic old school/mining town interior-exterior. Staff was friendly and very hospitable and was very well decorated for the Christmas season. The bar and restaurant atmosphere was incredible, and the cocktails were spot on. Speakeasy downstairs was fun also. We did not want to leave the property!!
