Holiday Inn Express Shrewsbury by IHG

Good location for us and the breakfast was very good

The bed was comfy, the room had air-conditioning. The room was spacious. The complimentary shower gel and shampoo were nice. The hotel was 10 minutes from the town centre.

The bedside shelves were dirty. The right side had cup ring marks from previous drinks, the other side by the phone had something brown and dried on.. If the room is unclean in parts, it begs the question what else is dirty. Breakfast was disappointing.

Location was ok on the main road around town

Smell in room- faulty drains. Lack of bar options - no ice and no beer! Food in restaurant’ was dire

The breakfast options were bleak. The scrambled egg resembled polystyrene, bacon, tomatoes eggs all seemed tasteless. Very poor selection of non cooked breakfast options, the plain yoghurt again, tasteless. I know this stay was cheaper than the Premier Inns we often stay in, so can't expect the same, but we left feeling flat, rather than looking forward to the day. We chose the hotel because of it's location but will opt for an alternative in future. We would rather pay more to get a hearty tasty breakfast

Not a great deal, to be honest. Comfortable bed and pillows. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms were not particularly clean. The hotel had a very budget feel, despite not being the cheapest in the area.

Convenient, close to A5 with onsite parking.
