The Zuri Kumarakom Kerala Resort & Spa

Summary: One of the most terribly overpriced food and tiny portion sizes I have seen in my entire life. Avoid. I am sure there are better options available at this expensive price. The good: Resort is picturesque, right on the lake, with good greenery and landscaping. There is also a manmade lagoon inside which adds to the calm and serene atmosphere. The bad: this is going to be a long list Food: atrocious pricing and ridiclously small portion sizes/ I have stayed in many 5 star resorts across India and abroad but nowhere I felt so cheated about the food. And another issue is there is absolutely no options outside the resort, so you are very much stuck here. Rooms: Rooms are spacious but the maintenance and fitments are not modern or uptodate. They have an age old small TV with cable connection and horrible picture quality with hardly any channels. The fitments in the room and bathroom are showing their age clearly. Simple things like water in the wash basin was not going away, it was getting choked. Service: Pathetic. we were locked out of our own room twice due to some problem with the lock. First time, they took 45 mins to fix the problem where we were stranded outside. And the manager comes and says sorry reluctantly. According to the manager, this is a SMALL issue, nothing for us to be angry about. property: while overall property is nice and on the lake, the lake view is completely obstructed by pool villas. while I understand that the hotel wants to earn more from the pool villas, they should have at least left a decent open space for the 90% people in the hotel who are not staying in the pool villas. There is also lack of sitting places across the property to sit rela and enjoy the views. Bottomline: Avoid, many better options available at this price.

I visited this property along with my childhood friend. The property is beautiful and the unhindered view of the Vembanad lake is just mind blowing. We really had a very good and relaxed stay. The experience that we enjoyed are: 1 ) Super friendly front desk, specially the lady Akshara.. amazing energy , did not see a single day where she dint smile straight from her heart 2) The spa experience.. I wish i could have packed them home 3) The lake view.. absolutely breathtaking along with the Shikara ride 4) The walk around the property is serene and amount of birds you get to see! Wish I had my Nikon DSLR 5) Zip-line inside the property What can be improved 1) There is an amphitheater and they can hold shows like Mohiniattam or any other traditional kerala dances or martial arts. That space is not utilised well 2) Evenings are bland, they can recharge the atmosphere by hosting games like tambola 3) The food is just average, choices limited. 4) Saw a basketball court but other than that no outdoor sport facility like badminton court.

Great food experience! The chefs taste and flavoring if the food is perfect, the bindi curry and dhal was flavored very well. Subal has been an exceptional waiter is know his menu very well. He is very well versed in the amenties of the hotel.

Sooraj from housekeeping was very polite and hard working, he did his job diligently, thank you for making my stay comfortable.

Excellent property with good service and nice rooms.But in the compound in front of our room there was a monstesr lizard and that is very dangerous if you are going with kids.The staff told us there are many.So,along with room you will get free lizard watching.

The facilities is fantastic. It is very serene, peaceful and calm. It is extremely well-maintained. The best part of the facility is greenery and the smiles of the people. Everyone goes out of their way to help and assist. We could not have selected any better facilities than this. The food is excellent. They have 24 hour coffee shop. Is a separate island for the meditation. The massage was excellent. We felt very light after the massage. The staff is extremely friendly.

Very nice place, nice rooms, good experience in the restaurant, tasty Indian cuisines, very calm atmosphere. Absolutely recommend. Sudipta in the restaurant gave us extraordinary service.
