The Shore Club Wisconsin, an Ascend Collection Hotel

From the moment we checked in we felt like we had just entered into a mix of an Ernest Hemingway novel/Dirty Dancing movie era with the charm of this boutique resort. We have two young daughters and it was important to us to have two rooms adjoining so they could have their own space. The Shore Club was able to accommodate with one king and two double bed rooms. The rooms were brightly lit, very clean (and I’m a clean freak), and fully updated. We went between the Tiki Bar, pool and SC’s private beach and let me tell you this was so relaxing and beautiful and the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of Chicago. This place is such a slice of heaven! The small town is unbelievably adorable and charming as well. We dined at Lake Street Cafe for dinner and it was wonderful food and heavy pours of wine :) Gesserts ice cream shop for the kiddos after dinner was also a hit. The food and drinks at the Shore Club’s Tiki Bar are phenomenal—I loved the fish tacos and fried cheese curds. My kids loved the chicken tenders and fries! My husband had the local beer (Spotted Cow) and I loved the vacation drinks (my fav was their margarita and they used Casamigos tequila)!! The next night we were exhausted and ordered from Parker John’s and it was great change of pace! The Side Rail was tasty for a mid-morning latte and a breakfast sandwich, but we also took advantage of the Shore Club’s complimentary “grab and go” breakfast (connected to the lobby) with pastries, fresh fruits, coffee, and juices. Let’s not forget the stylish boutique that I enjoyed shopping at—all of the items were reasonably priced and very fashion forward. I love and respect that this resort is family owned and operated and the owners Tom and Kristin even checked in on us to see how we were enjoying ourselves. We cannot wait to come back every year and make this our annual mid-summer family escape! Thank you The Shore Club Wisconsin—Elkhart Lake! We will see you soon! :)

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!! We booked two rooms for our family of 6 on Expedia. Long story short, this hotel was unwilling to give us two rooms next to each other, even with 4 little kids. They wanted to give us two rooms Each on different floors!!!!! They're answer to everything is NO, literally, I wanted water, answer was no, wanted towels: I received a lot of attitude from a worker, Lisa, about this, and continued attitude even after I asked for toilet paper, attitude continued on after she dropped it off to my room. I even had to tell her to stop with her attitude. Pam at the front desk claimed she did everything to get our rooms together. Ok fine... so this family of 6 squished into 1 room with two beds and 1 bathroom. We didn't even take the other room.... With our family situation we couldn't.... Obviously. My husband told Pam we would squeeze into 1 room And told her to credit us for the other room. She agreed, but hasn't done it. Now this is going to be another fight. Aside from that, sheets were unclean... had multiple disgusting stains…. Clearly they don’t change the sheets if they “look” ok on the outside. This hotel is a joke. Where the kindness and customer service? We will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it at all to others. We are big on customer service and friendliness, and did not find it here. This hotel has ruined our family vacation. We like to support small businesses, which is why we stayed here, but will not approve

Walls are very thin we could hear everthing next door

Nice and clean. close to all the action.

Average resort but I was in a room next door to a party, they ignored my requests to quiet down and the noise went to 1:15 AM. No answers at resort phone numbers and I thought a call to the police to report was probably not worth the effort. Walls offered no noise insulation/sound attenuation. A real waste of money as I was cheated out of a night's sleep that I paid for.

Friendly and very accomadsting.

I booked a room through Priceline and it is advertised with a Free Breakfast. There was no free breakfast as the lobby and restaurant were locked up and closed. When I complained to Priceline they called the hotel and were told that there were "Grab & Go" items available. They must mean the single coffee maker in the room. I don't know where I was supposed to grab anything from. Beautiful rooms but if it's not summer don't bother because no one is working. A single female traveling alone and I did not feel safe nor was I happy that I had to go eat in a restaurant alone when I thought I could eat at my hotel with other guest. Will not go back.

The updated room are nicely renovated. The location of the hotel is convenient to restaurants and shopping. The owners are very gracious, and accommodating. We had a fabulous stay.
