Location to RAF Gosford, great staff very knowledgeable about area if they didn’t know would find out for you. Quiet location heaped in charm and appeal, 300 yrs old.

The hotel requires updating, bedroom furniture old and dated, acknowledge it was to give the antique effect but a jumble of old furnishings, decor dated, building and gardens require attention.

Location to Shifnal.

Everything. The whole place is run down and in very poor condition. The facilities listed were in fact absent. No restaurant as listed. No out door seating area, no bar staff, no TV as advertised. Couches in bar area with no jotyom as i fell through it! I upgraded to a four poster room and i wished I hadnt bothered. The whole room was very poor and the mattress didnt even fit the bed! I asked to speak to a General manager who turned ups 20 minutes after checkout time the next day. So needles to say I didnt speak to them as I was heading out to a wedding. We wantec to use the pool but no staff on site and the overall hygiene was shockingly bad. I was furious at the whole experience and asked fir my money back but Jo one even bothered to contact me and I have been waiting for nearly 4 weeks. Do not stay you will be disappointed. The only plus was that Shifnal has some fantastic restaurants and we could easily walk into town for a lovely meal and a drink.

Overall the hotel has clearly been very good quality some years ago and like a lot of hotels has fell into a little bit of decline regarding old furniture and carpets etc However the new owners are making a really good go of it and it has real potential to be brought back to again being a great local independent hotel. Much better than the main budget and midrange hotels more personal and friendly. Room was large and spacious again furniture and fittings a bit tired but more than adequate. Bed pretty comfy to be fair. Bar area small but ok and evening meals in the bar again good value. Drinks are a little expensive but it is what it is. The staff front to back were all excellent and very helpful. All in all good value for money. Dont be put off by a bit of older furniture to get a better experience for a better price.

For the money i paid it was more than adequate with free parking and the Gym/pool and fresh breakfast from the kitchen not self serve rubbish so nothing really to moan about. :)

Very welcoming coming staff, this was our second stay at hotel, very clean and really good staff. Traditional English breakfast was very nice.

Ideally situated for access to local attractions and towns . Great choice for breakfast freshly cooked and well presented. Room we stayed in was a good size bed was comfortable.
