Staff friendly and helpful

The hotel requires updating, bedroom furniture old and dated, acknowledge it was to give the antique effect but a jumble of old furnishings, decor dated, building and gardens require attention.

Overall the hotel has clearly been very good quality some years ago and like a lot of hotels has fell into a little bit of decline regarding old furniture and carpets etc However the new owners are making a really good go of it and it has real potential to be brought back to again being a great local independent hotel. Much better than the main budget and midrange hotels more personal and friendly. Room was large and spacious again furniture and fittings a bit tired but more than adequate. Bed pretty comfy to be fair. Bar area small but ok and evening meals in the bar again good value. Drinks are a little expensive but it is what it is. The staff front to back were all excellent and very helpful. All in all good value for money. Dont be put off by a bit of older furniture to get a better experience for a better price.

For the money i paid it was more than adequate with free parking and the Gym/pool and fresh breakfast from the kitchen not self serve rubbish so nothing really to moan about. :)

Ideally situated for access to local attractions and towns . Great choice for breakfast freshly cooked and well presented. Room we stayed in was a good size bed was comfortable.

The gym and sauna were excellent and pool clean and warm, rather too warm and small for a decent swim. Bedroom was also good - new ensuite facilities.wifi worked well. Rest of the hotel was dated - but I knew this when booking. It is slowly being renovated. Arrived too late for an evening meal. Breakfast was OK.

Great location, friendly staff, the age of the hotel shows itself inside, the hallways and overall look of the place is amazing.

A little bit outdated facilities, you could see there were a few things that could be done up, the bath and sink was showing some age. The bed matress could be a little more comfier. I feel like some work could be done on the upkeep/maintenance, this would cost a lot and probably put costs up however it would be perfect. Value for money was still very good for what we got. Would stay here again.

Building is very run down, in need of refurbishment all over. Breakfast options very limited, pool was in a seperate building across the carpark
