The whole place needs a little sprucing up. Though it did add to the charm!

Food is dreadful, very little choice on menu - takeaway chippy food would be better. The hotel is badly maintained and rot all around the windows.

The property is not what it is in the photo - it is poorly run down and the maintenance around the hotel is very poor. The bedrooms are just about ok. if you stay here you will have to eat out in mcdonalds cause there not much about. I was so disappointed in this hotel - I could not believe my eyes when I pulled up, the photos on booking.com are very disin genuous.

We arrived a little early for an afternoon tea, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We don’t live locally, but found Haughton house’s website showing what seemed to be a perfect venue to celebrate. We were the only people there, and were shown to our table in the middle of a large dining room. The table was basically set for breakfast, as was every other table. The only difference was there was no plastic coated breakfast menu on our table. We had opted for a champagne upgrade and 2 glasses were brought to the table. The tea stand was brought to the table, no explanation on anything on it. The egg sandwiches were bland, no seasoning and the cheese and chutney sandwiches were inedible. The thinnest slice of cheese which was like rubber and so much chutney. The quiche was mainly pastry. We were given a single cup of tea teapot each which we had to find a member of staff to ask for more. We were pretty much ignored for the whole time we were there. The French doors looking out into the garden would have been lovely if they had been cleaned and the lawn had been cut in the previous month. I would definitely not visit again.

The hotel is at that stage of its life where it either needs a quite a few million spent on it, or a bulldozer! Yes, it was a little run down but we were made very welcome and the place had character in the positive sense. For a fellow trying to impress a lady then it's not the place to take them, but for a biking couple looking to stay somewhere for the night at a reasonable cost then it was grand. The evening meal was actually very good, but we skipped breakfast.

The building needs updating and the room was hot in the heatwave, but for the money spent it wasn't that bad.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our visit, both at reception and in the bar. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and we particularly appreciated the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, which made for a relaxing stay. The location is truly beautiful, with lovely surroundings and picturesque views that added to the overall experience. Thank you to the team for their hard work and hospitality.

Dear Management I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred during our recent stay at Haughton Hall Hotel & Leisure Club. Booking details: -Booking.com reservation number: 5158198378 -Room number: 51 -Check-in: 29 May 2026 -Check-out: 30 May 2026 The purpose of our stay was for my daughter to attend an important gymnastics competition on the morning of 30 May 2026. After returning from breakfast, we discovered that our room key cards no longer worked. We went to reception and were provided with four replacement key cards one after another, but none of them opened the room door. A member of staff was then sent to assist us and attempted to reset the door lock using a handheld device. Unfortunately, this also failed and we remained locked out of our room for a considerable period of time. As the situation became increasingly urgent and no solution had been found, my daughter eventually entered the room through the ground-floor window and was able to unlock the door from the inside. While the room being on the ground floor made this possible, it is clearly not something guests should ever have to do in order to regain access to their accommodation. Unfortunately, the consequences of this incident were significant. My daughter had a pre-booked appointment with a hairstylist before her gymnastics competition. Competition regulations require athletes to present themselves with an appropriate hairstyle. Due to the time lost dealing with the faulty door and repeated unsuccessful attempts to access our room, we missed the appointment entirely. The situation caused considerable stress and upset for my daughter. She became very distressed and was brought to tears. We also arrived late for the competition. Thankfully, another competitor's mother kindly helped with her hair at the last minute, but by then the positive mindset and preparation she had built up for the event had been severely affected.

The staff are genuine, helpful people. The place could do with updating in parts but it was clean and comfortable.

It was all good, I would stay there again.

Camere piccole, senza aria condizionata né ventilatore. Bagno piccolo. Finestre e porte datate. L'hotel necessita qualche lavoro urgente di restauro e migliorare la pulizia.

This place could be incredible but needs serious investment refurbishment and modernisation. Data protection is a major issue I could view all guest details on the computer as you go up the stairs. Food is of poor quality m.
