Pillo Hotel & Leisure Club

The location of the hotel for our stay was perfect. It was only a few minutes drive to Emerald Park. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and were happy to go above and beyond for any request.

I felt the room or suite as it was called at check-in was dated and slightly worn down. An update is needed in my opinion. There was food under one of the beds also which was slightly disappointing which then casted a doubt over room cleanliness.

Breakfast was not included

Staff on reception were not friendly or helpful. I had an elderly person with me and they delayed us as long as possible

Location to emerald park

Not kid friendly. Priority given to adults for leisure centre use. (10.15am-7.15pm) and must access pool by 6.30pm. There were no towels available at leisure centre when we were entering pool. Which delayed our entrance to pool, thus less time there. Kicked out on the nose 7.15pm! We were going to emerald park next day, so couldn’t use leisure facilities in the morning as I’d hoped, due to the hotel’s morning time restrictions. Cost of a breakfast there is also extortionate for kids, especially when kids are under 8! Travelled with autistic child, hoping to use sensory room advertised by hotel. However, when we arrived at reception, was advised that it was closed for renovations or sth to that effect. Not value for money.

The swimming pool was pleasant but busy. Location of the hotel made it easy to access from motorway.

There was a weekend convention of religious (JW) worship in the hotel. It meant the entire downstairs and parking was very busy & noisy. I think I should have been notified about this event at time of booking. It was very overwhelming and I felt very oppressed in the space. We couldn’t access a play room or sensory room upstairs due to this event. Food service in pub bistro was very slow in the evening & VERY loud. Overbearing volume. Food was very slow and we thought expensive for what we ordered. Breakfast was not enjoyable. I mistakenly thought we’d booked B&B for family of 5. We hadn’t and breakfast cost €75 for 2 adults and 3 children. Coffee machine wasn’t working. Juices were not fresh squeezed just kulana juice from concentrate. On arrival we discovered the sink in our bathroom did not drain and hotel plumber / maintenance was in our bedroom for 1 hour fixing it. Wanted to rest after long drive but this person was carrying out this maintenance whilst my daughter and I sat on beds. Our room was near the lifts and water station and up to 11.30pm at night younger teenage residents were running up and down past our room. Carpet at water station was soaking wet. Our booking was made for two adults and three children (ages provided) . A camping bed was the sleep option provided for third child. They had a very uncomfortable night’s sleep.

Food is amazing, nicest dinner we had the pizza, pillo smash burger, brisket fries and the breakfasts and desserts were phenomenal. The restaurant food was easily our favourite part, they also have a lovely pool we loved the pool area. Nice friendly staff there too which is great thank you all
