Stockwood Hotel

My expectation was a little low based on previous reviews. I chose this as cheaper than airport hotels options and due to my schedule it allowed me to use the centre of luton. The welcome was excellent, friendly and efficient. Its a shame not all services are available due to covid and staffing but I knew this before as I received details of what was going on before arrival, including the limited parking. The hotel was very communicative. The room was excellent and very very clean, a few extra little touches would take this hotel much higher and I know now this is planned, Next time I fly in via Luton I will use again with no doubt. It was a central location and therefore more noisy than the airport but again I knew this and it was fine. and just 10 minutes. to the airport.

I came in for check in and the guy at the till was very rude and stuck up, took a £50 deposit and said “you break anything and I won’t give your money back am I clear” the hotel seemed very quite and atmosphere was the weirdest/spookiest place I’ve stayed at. Room was so so so small and felt so trapped and scared, beds was dirty, and floor was filthy, no security and no safe feeling in this hotel, also paid £120 for 2 nights in a single bed room, I only ended up staying 1 night as it was that bad I wanted to get out as soon as I got in my room. I could get 2 nights at premier inn for cheaper where I would feel much more welcome and safe and would be getting much more for my money. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone so please be careful, parking was also awful as they only have 5 parking bays.

It was like home from home very homely. Warm and welcoming

Did not get prior notice that the included breakfast was not on yet this was the main reason for picking this hotel. The small room with a low sloping ceiling making it difficult to get into bed was on the top floor up two flights of very steep stairs “hard work for me age 71. The tiny bathroom had a dirty shower. The car park is very small. The bed was uncomfortable with a cheap mattress that you could feel the springs through. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone else. Should have gone to a premier inn but we all have to learn though!!!

Budget hotel at best not the same room as pictures show ...no breakfast when stated bit disappointed

The manager is rude, he swore at us and refused abrefund when Ryan Air cancelled our flights and we were stuck in Malta for 2 days. £36 is that important to this hotel......no thought for Covid restrictions and cancellations of flights AVOID THIS HOTEL

I stayed for one night as I working in the hospital. The receptionist was nice but the room was very cold and I have asked him to put the heat on but it was working, so I asked for an extra heater. He was co-operative. The breakfast which was part of the room price was appalling. a plastic bag with two pieces of toast without any butter or jam or anything to eat it with. one nutrition bar and that's it. No juice or tea or coffee. The TV monitor is very small like 20 inches and the remote was dirty.

The staff made me very welcome from the get go. The free WiFi was on point. Me and my wife booked in as I was there for a bit of work. Breakfast was ok but was apparently they do a buffet which isn't allowed the moment due to COVID. Some of the reviews the hotel gets is a little out of order. The price is reasonable dnd you get plenty for your money. Parking is a little tight but you can get it in if you are there early enough.

I booked this hotel for the for the 29th of August and added a breakfast and did not noticed the date had changed without me noticing, I spoke to booking.com and they agreed the error. I spoke to the Manger Mr Patel when I noticed the money had been taken From my card. He refused point blank to refund it even though there was another booking date for the following week. I spoke to Mr Patel the following Saturday to see if he would compromise but he started to to shout and raise his voice and one point even swore at me. I was so upset. He even said people LIKE YOU give small hotels like mine a bad name. I was applaud as this person did not Know me from Adam. I hope the owner of this hotel reads this review and listens to the phone calls. Especially the one on the 29th of August. I would also like to write to the owners of the hotel but again Mr Patel refused to give the name of his superiors. I would not normally write a review like this and I also work in customer service for 20 years but feel the way I was treated was disgusting.I use hotels ALL the time and have experienced this kind of attitude.
