Stockwood Hotel

Room was exactly what I paid for - small single with a window. Functional and looked clean but there was an odour in the room, somewhere between a slight damp and cooking smell but never experienced it before. TV didn’t work but after checking it found PAT sticker on the back and last test as 2015. Reported to receptionist though who came up, tested it and swapped it with another occupied room, not sure what they watched!?!

You get what you pay for and no complaints

We booked our stay for one night, immediately after booking I realised it was the incorrect date. I rang booking and the hotel less than 15 minutes after booking to see if I could get a refund or change the date in which I was told no by the hotel. This is understandable as it’s due to my own error. Eventually me and my partner decided to still stay as it would have been a waste of money had we not. We didn’t arrive till 10pm or after. We stayed the night, I left 515am as I was working an early shift and my partner stayed in bed. At 10.55 there was shouting and knocking at the door, shouting that check out is 11 and that he had to leave. My partner went down to the reception to hand in the key where him and myself were accused of smoking marijuana in the room that night and that there had been reports of it. We then said it was not us, because it was not us and the man said we were the only people on that floor. If that were the case where had all these so called reports come from and why at no point had anyone come to inspect the room that night. May I add there was no smell of marijuana at all during are stay which pushes me to believe this was all a huge lie. A lady then was sent to check the room. Upon return she stated the room was perfectly fine and that there was just a wine bottle in the room. The man then asked my partner ‘were you drinking?’ Why on earth was he interrogated and why were we both falsely accused when they had no reason to be do it. It is not illegal to drink in hotel rooms and it’s none of the hotels business that we were, he was quite clearly trying to find any reason to penalise us.The man then said to my partner ‘should you be drinking?’ Which was a comment simply intended to offend my partner as the man presumed he was Muslim. HOW DARE HE ask such questions and make comments like that. It was the most rude conversation to come from a man who supposedly is meant to provide good customer service. I was appalled to hear this story from my partner and feel it was nothing but an attack for no reason or in hope to try and charge us for ridiculous and false allegations.

Room 8. Bedsprings dug in ribs. Pillows lumpy. Bathroom freezing cold. Sink tap so powerful I soaked myself. (On the positive - the shower was good). Water leak stain on ceiling. Furnishings very dated (~1970's imo). Passing traffic noise kept me awake. Only 10 parking spaces, so had to park on street half a mile away. But, hey, if you don't mind all that then £45 to get your head down for the night ain't so bad.

The male receptionist was brill didn’t catch his name nothing was too much nice manner and is a credit to the hotel.

Very old locks on doors gaps all around door poor standard of cleaning yes was very cheap 50€ but not worth it feel very unsafe in room

Enjoyed the stay and location was ideal. Basic room but all you need for a quick stay as it was clean. However, poor breakfast (untidy and limited), no hairdryer in room and limited parking. Would stay again for a quick stay as price was good

It is ok for one night and luton airport is not far. For the price I paid I am happy for this hotel.

Hotel is good but basic, it’s a no frills hotel.
