"Winter break"

4.0

The rating given on the website states four star ,it’s a three star at best .If you want a good nights sleep, you need to request a room away from the night club Our room had single beds, not a fan All meals a buffet style, when we booked we were told there are three speciality restaurants. There was only one, there isn’t much of a variety of choices either We informed the reception desk there was no coffee in our room .On three separate occasions before they delivered some. To finish off the trip my wife contracted food poisoning in,we won’t be rushing back .

"Excellent service throughout, friendly and perfect location!"

10.0

This is our third year visiting this Hotel and it never fails to impress. This is an adult only Hotel, the only one in Agadir. The Hotel has beautiful grounds with gorgeous views of the sea from partial sea view rooms. The clay tennis courts are kept immaculately by MoMo. The tennis racquets and tennis balls are also of a good standard should you wish to use them. There is also a very reasonable gym as well as other activities such as yoga; Pilates & French boules. There is also a shuttle service to a nearby golf course. It is the staff that make this Hotel, they are all so helpful and cannot do enough for you. Our thanks to Yasine, Front Office Manager; Rushid, Porter and Mohammed in the Restaurant, as well as all the bar staff, they all remembered us from the year before and we didn’t want for anything, service with a smile every time. It is in a perfect location right on the sea front with access to a private section of the beach. There is a 7 km promenade to stroll along which takes you to the marina.

"Good - depending on your room number!"

8.0

Just got back from a 7 night trip to Tikida Beach. All in all we had a good break however certain areas of the hotel let down our stay. Originally put in room 252, all was good until we went to bed where music was blaring out until 5am the following morning from the Zanzibar club (which is open to anyone) and is located directly underneath this side of the hotel. On top of the music, because these rooms overlook the main road, car horns were peeping all night long - sounding as if on purpose. The following morning we complained to the Tui rep about the level of noise and by 12pm the same day we were moved to a new room. It was like this issue is common and the complaint was almost expected (there are other reviews with the same issue). The second room, 918 was based on the other side of the hotel which is completely in the shade which isn't an issue other than with no natural heat entering the room it absolutely stank of damp / must. The wardrobe doors and head board were wooden and it was like the damp had seeped into them meaning whenever you opened the wardrobe or sat up in bed, the smell of damp was horrendous. All of our clothes smelt damp and even the items placed in the safe had the same smell when we come to go home. The rooms were made up each day with fresh towels etc but for the last 2 days, the coffee & milk were not refreshed. Other than these issues, the room was spacious and nicely done. The food in the buffet restaurant was ok, very repetitive as you expect with all inclusive but warm and plentiful. The al a carte food was beautiful. Drinks were hit and miss depending which bar you used and the entertainment was good from what little we saw. All other facilities were good and the lounge area is done really nice and welcoming. I would recommend the hotel and would probably return hoping we didn't get any of the above rooms again.

"Beautiful hotel, beautiful people but avoid the rooms at the front if you can."

10.0

Fabulous hotel and brilliant staff. When we arrived we were unhappy with our room as was above the nightclub but this was quickly changed and we were lucky enough to get a room overlooking the beach with a huge patio. Beautiful! Loads of storage and the shower was unreal! The staff in this hotel cannot do enough for you, huge thanks to them all especially the amazing lady in Casablanca bar who never let our drinks run dry! We met an amazing group of people and had the best time. Entertainment was great too. Food was amazing although we preferred the buffet and did not really like the a la carte. Always something new to try. We will most definetly be back. Big shout out to Laura and Jose for keeping the party going all day!

"Poor tui bleu"

6.0

I love agadir and this is my 10th visit. This time I bought my parents and chose an adult only hotel. Usually I stay at the tikida dunas next door which has high standards and to be honest as a 4* knocks spots of this hotel. Don't get me wrong the staff are great although some staff give the impression that customers are below them sadly. The location is lovely but the hotel is dated and a bit depressing. The entertainment is appalling and unprofessional. The hotel is clean and gardens well kept. There is a lack of care in the dining room with regards to clearing tables and at peak times a lack of tables. Big parties get better service than small and the staff pander heavily to the French. Paper napkins at dinner not cloth. Shoddy and ripped furniture with no padding. Feels like a retirement home. I always stay in Tui Riu Hotels and this as a 4 star plus is the worse ive ever encountered. Bedding is lumpy with terrible pillows. Im sorry but im so disappointed . Many guests have told me that they have had diarrhea vomiting and temperature thoughtout their stay. Im a medic and had ti treat my patents gor this here sadly. Chipped china in dining room. A la carte was a joke too. Tikida dunas and palace far better please beware

"A great stay"

8.0

We have just come back from a weeks stay at Tikida beach and we had a lovely time. Check in was smooth my only gripe is why the riu app asks you to check in online upload passports etc to save time when you have to do it again at reception, makes no sense to me. The room we had was lovely, quiet and away from noise like we asked for, with a pool view and partial beach view, the balcony was comfortable and a decent size, the room itself was great, very comfortable beds, lots of storage and very clean, the kettle and cups etc were great for an early cup of tea/coffee before going down for breakfast, the bathrooms are modern and great shower, the only thing missing for me was hair conditioner,if I'd known I would have brought my own. We found the restaurants good overall,a large choice on offer whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, not all of it was perfect but we always had food we liked, loved all the Moroccan dishes, would love to see more of that authentic local fayre rather than some of the choices like chicken nuggets etc but I do understand that the hotel has to cater to all tastes. Personally when I go away I want local dishes. The hot breakfasts were great. All in all we ate well with plenty of choice. Shout out to our waiters who were all lovely and courteous Abdu, Brahim, Mohamed and Tafiq all super cool as were their younger helpers, everyone always had a smile. The chefs were great too always saying hello etc. All made us feel super welcome and are great assets to the hotel. Our night in the a la carte was great, loved the Moroccan food we chose both the tagines lamb and chicken and they were amazing. The pool was lovely, very clean we did however have to join in with the pre booking of beds which I hate doing but if you didn't do that you just didn't get one in the sun, I would like to see a bit more supervision whereby after a couple of hours not being used towels etc should be removed, hogging a bed for a day and not using it is the height of lack of respect for others. Going off for lunch for an hour or so is fine in my opinion but not half a day. The gym is good and well equipped with the necessary machines and weights. We didn't find any issues that others have mentioned about unclean corriders and smells, for us the cleanliness was spot on. The bar staff were nice and also efficient, not so mad about the cocktails which after two choices I quickly realised they were not on par but thats not down to the bar staff its management. After day two I found out they had sangria which I didn't see on the drinks list so that was my go to once I realised it was on offer. A suggestion to management would be to improve the cocktails and include baileys and pink gin on the list of drinks on offer. I do find it funny in previous reviews with the English complaining about the french having better service and the french saying they found the English were more looked after. Thats whats wrong with this world live and let live and respect all is my advice. I would stay at this hotel again

"Amazing weeks stay"

8.0

After reading many of the reviews after I had already booked, I was a bit worried I'd made a big mistake.... How wrong could I have been After a few hiccups when we checked in, room didn't have a balcony or terrace which, I thought I'd booked (Tui's balls up) we were given a nice room with 'partial' sea view, reception staff were understanding but, the chap that takes your luggage to the room was the 'star of the show' an absolute legend, can't remember his name but he should be the Manager, can't thank him enough The staff here are amazing and an asset to the Hotel The food was what was expected, varied, could always find something we liked, traditional fayre along with the good old pizza, pasta lots of salad, grilled fish meats etc Couldn't fault what was on offer & NO we didn't get dodgy tummies The cleanliness was also very good, ok sometimes there was some bird droppings on sunloungers but, you can't stop the birds from pooping ! It was wiped down if seen or reported On the whole we had an amazing holiday so much so we are booking to go back again in May To sum this hotel up..... It does what 'it says on the tin' for the money you can't ask for more We've stayed at some 5star ultra all inclusive resorts (don't expect this here) Just enjoy what this lovely hotel has to offer, the wonderful staff, location & weather One for the Hotel, can you please consider offering 'iced coffe' See you all in May 😃

"Chillaxed vibe. Perfect hotel for more mature people."

10.0

I was concerned before going as there were reviews of bad tummy’s . It was a tale of two halves, my friend got the trots but I didn’t. Make sure the food you eat is piping hot. The food was great. Even had English fry up and amazing tagline meals. The staff were amazing and made the holiday. Entertainment every night , some good some bad . Our room was near reception (5) which was quite damp and musty but the hotel rooms don’t get any sun at the sides of the building. Biggest drawback was nothing dried so we couldn’t dry swimwear and had to put it back on damp . Saying all this we had a fabulous holiday and would come back again. Perfect for people needing good accessibility. Plenty of sun beds with huge comfy cushions. Safe to go out walking in the day or evening. Beach was nice but the sea was very shallow but rough. English money accepted in notes in shops and. Exchanged easily in reception. All in all a very relaxed vibe.

"Great on the surface. The reality is quite disappointing."

6.0

This hotel is 4 star on the surface but the reality is more like a 3 star The good bits: Lovely communal areas - lots of seating areas and gorgeous decor Welcoming staff on reception Nice big rooms with plenty of storage and modern bathrooms The food is fine - nothing outstanding but usual all inclusive fayre Drinks were OK - wine drinkable but cocktails were pre-mixed Easy to book the A La Carte with reception Beach right across the road (however, it would be nice to have the addition of a beach bar, rather than having to go back to the hotel for drinks) Where it does not reach 4 star standards ; Our group had 3 bedrooms and they all had an underlying smell of foist/damp. The worst smelling one also had an awful urinal type like smell in the bathroom. It really was quite disgusting. We asked for a room swap but were told we were better to stay where we were ... not sure why? They came and poured something down the drains which improved things slightly but the room still smelled very damp. The WiFi is terrible - it constantly drops in and out (if you can even get on it). If you want to operate customer service through an app you need working WiFi. It also meant two of us who needed to work remotely could not do so as the connection was too unreliable. The biggest bug bear was sun beds …. Usual selfish guests bagging beds - many already reserved by 7am with no signs of anyone using them for hours. We struggled to get beds around the pool and on the beach with a lot being “reserved” first thing and not being used until late into the afternoon and other people wandering about with nowhere to sit. It’s just so unfair and selfish and needs policing by the staff. Who is monitoring your advertised policy of no reserving of sun beds? We asked the sun bed guy on the beach when there were so many beds reserved and not being used and he just said "it's not my problem"! It makes you wonder if staff are being tipped by guests to ignore it. The dining rooms at breakfast and lunch were so disorganised. Tables full of dirty plates. Never any tables ready. Repeatedly have to ask for the basics - cutlery, napkins, cups, etc. Staff were hit and miss. Some were friendly, others were downright miserable. Overall I found our whole stay disappointing. I booked the hotel independently and did not realise it was affiliated with TUI. I'm shocked that TUI classes it as a 4 star plus - there are many changes that need to be made before I would say it even reaches a 4 star. TIP : have a night at Zanzibar which is not part of the hotel but joined on to it. Brilliant night of food, drinks and entertainment.

"Damp, smelly room and pigeon poop on all sun beds and cushions - health issues!"

4.0

This hotel is not as good as other Tui Blue hotels. We had a major issue with smelly, damp mattresses and a room that smelt awful of mould and damp. The bedside lamp shade have a huge hole in it and it was thick with dust. Broken shelves in the bathroom etc ... We reported it to the Tui rep who spoke to the hotel management who did a big fat nothing! The sun beds and cushions all have pigeon poop on them, it's disgusting, you cannot find a seat that hasn't got it on. We were given blood stained pool towels on at least two occasions! Disgusting. We went to play table tennis; there was one table with a wonky leg, the other table was rusty and broken so much so that it wasn't fit to play on, not good enough! There is no 'speciality' restaurant. It is a joke. Drinks are way too limited and the cocktails are awful! Not much choice at all. The wine at dinner is really dry and there is not choice. Think before you book this place as there are way too many issues to ensure a good holiday; we tried to still relax and still get something of a holiday but it was spoilt.
