Palagina la Dimora

We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa (Belvedere), which is separate to the main villa but still part of the Villa la Palagina. Judging from what we saw of the main villa, we thought Belvedere was more rustic and less frequently booked than the main villa: and therefore perhaps not as well tended. When we arrived there were dozens of large bugs hidden in the folds of the curtains when we opened them: we understand it's the country, but the curtains obviously had not been moved or aired for quite some time. The front desk quickly sent someone over to dispose of the (visible) bugs when we asked them to. There were also other small things such as the fact that none of the power points were suitable for a standard EU/Italian power plug: we asked the front desk for a converter to the triple power point and they kindly loaned us one so that we could plug in our phones/hair appliances one at a time. There were also a number of other things overlooked, like shades missing on the lights in the bedrooms. The main villa looked much nicer and more elegant, we would stay there if given the choice again. The bathroom products were very nice, and the outlook from the Belvedere villa was lovely. We ate at the restaurant once, service was very slow (especially the sommelier) but the food was nice enough. When we checked out we were asked to pay an EUR80 final cleaning fee which was not mentioned in any of the booking information. When we explained this the hotel disregarded the fee.

Delicious food,(truffle pasta !) fantastic scenery and setting. Beautiful place. Friendly staff and great customer service. Comfortable beds and nice linen/towels. Well maintained pool area.

We loved everything about Villa La Palagina. We stayed in Villa Belvedere and it was beautiful. Spectacular views from it’s position on top of the hill. The gardens were immaculate with 2 swimming pools. The staff went out of their way to provide genuine first class service. The food from Chef Marco was the best I have eaten (and I have been to Italy 6 times!). Palagina is a magical place my family adored and we will be going back soon

Outstanding pools! 4 star view, the hotel needs to pick up in a few areas for an overall 4 star experience however. The hotel and environment is stunning but some of their facilities need attention. E.g. very noisy air con sporadic rattle which woke us up, bathroom door latch noisy and stiff to open, bathroom aged/cramped, safe didn't seem to work, pillows and bed/linen could be better quality. We loved our stay, especially the farm near by, fantastic pool, and delicious breakfast.. just needs a bit of TLC to get back to 4 star quality.

Awesome place to stay! Scenery was amazing, food was amazing, room was amazing, service was amazing! Could not have asked for better.

Set in the country side this was very relaxing and with a pool it made the stay very pleasing. Only 30 minute train ride to Florence which we did for the day then back to the Hotel to experience great meals in the restaurant.

Amazing Place. Amazing Restaurant. Very decent pricing for the stay and for the restaurant. Great breakfast. Great area and facilities including two pools. Just great place.
