Wonderful stay. Fabulous food drinks and view. Shout out to the warm welcome from Eric, Floricel with the never ending drinks and shots and Edgar for all the extra blankets, pillows and d towels. Our stay was amazing. Best 40th ever!

The staff is the best part of this resort & that os saying a lot. Guadalupe at the bar, Edgar & Floricel @ the cabana, Juan at the Kitchen Table were so great. They were on top of everything & spoiling us withbsuch great attitudes. The food was amazing everywhere we went. The tomahawk( oh my gosh), the seafood at Lobster (to die for), worth every bite. The Services & amenities were top notch.

Josue and Floricef tended to everything we could have possibly needed. Even the things we didn’t know we needed! Made for an amazing experience. The resort had excellent staff across the board, but these guys truly stand out!

We booked a 20 day stay for our 30th anniversary direct through the excellence website with a platinum rate that includes a room upgrade. When we inquired at checkin why the upgrade had not been provided they made excuses including they didn’t have us listed as platinum members (platinum rate?!) and that 9 nights was a long time. So, staying longer and spending more money makes us less worthy? We were told we could request a move in a couple days. We were shown to our room in which the balcony literally faced a Wall. We were very disappointed. When we asked again for our upgrade we were told if they could find something we would have to move not once, but twice. Who wants to spend their vacation constantly changing rooms? They did not get back to us to solve the room issue so we had to stay in one of the worst rooms I have ever had at a cost of close to 1K per night. We then spent the first 5 days trying to figure out how to adjust the shower which only provided HOT water. By the time we realized the problem was not user error, I did not want to waste my time trying to have it fixed. The poor quality liquid soap provided in the resort is like baby soap so bring your own bar if you want to feel clean. For obvious reasons our showers had to be very short. The room had several light sensors that turned on the lights when you got out of bed and they stayed on long enough to ensure you and your spouse would be completely awake. While the bed seemed comfortable, the pillows were so huge we could not get comfortable. I requested standard size pillows from the front desk and received pillows that were even bigger! All in all, the execution of our reservation and our room was a total fail. The positives of this resort are the employees. Friendly hardworking wonderful staff. Plenty of towels and bottled water. Poolside pizza and coffeehouse both excellent. Resort very clean. The special event meal on Wednesday (only) at agave restaurant was the best and only great dinner we experienced in our 9 night stay. We have stayed at excellence resorts in Jamaica and Mexico in the past and have been very impressed with the food but Not This Time unfortunately. Many popular items have disappeared from the menu including sea bass and creme brûlée. The steakhouse no longer lists any fish on its menu. Many of the seafood items (clam chowder, crab cake) at lobster house also have ham in them so not suitable if you’re a pescatarian. The items that have survived have been cheapened/simplified and prepared ahead so they cannot be changed. What used to be fantastic tortilla soup became canned tomato soup (campbells) with some avacado garnish and round tortilla chips thrown in. Many items are deep fried and reminiscent of fast food. They have replaced the creme brûlée at chez Isabelle with pudding on top of phyllo. The escargot appetizer is really 2 escargot and 2 mushroom pieces cut to look like escargot. The cheese (think nachos) has been replaced with a velveeta like substance. Coconut ship is no longer. Lunch at oregano seemed like leftovers from the previous days kitchen table meals. I understand the resorts are now under new management and it shows. They have also decreased the entertainment quality and quantity making silent disco a prime time event instead of something to do after the headliner. The live singer, Claudia Trevino, pretends like she’s taking an honoring requests live but the requests are impossibly the same 4 songs every time she performs. Jolene, landslide, Whitney Houston. Crazy but true! We felt like everything at this resort is fake, trying to masquerade as what it once was. Even the large bar next to the theater area is fake. You cannot order a drink at it and all of the high end bottles of the shelves are Empty. Why excellence, Why?!?!

I went here for a long weekend with my partner and we had the best time ever. The Excellence really lives up to its name. The food was amazing, the staff was incredibly friendly and hardworking, the facility is gorgeous, the gym was the nicest gym I've ever experienced at a hotel, and we couldn't think of a single bad thing to say. We came home from our trip filled to the brim with joy. Would recommend this place to anyone!

The staff is exceptional. Food was above our expectations. Facilities were amazing. we came to the resort for our anniversary and with another couple and we all had the best time.

The staff here are top notch at the Excellence Club beach. Sully is a super star. She made our birthday trip very special. She is a great talent. She is training Jesus. He is learning from the best. Every time we went to the beach, she did something special. She truly seems to love what she does and it shows.

Overall it was sunny but coldish weather, couldn’t try jet ski or boat just based on water temperature. Jacuzzi and pool were not heated too. The food and variety amazing, service excellent, bartenders know what they doing. Oh and spa is lovely! My therapist Patricia made magic.

The facility was palatial! So many areas to explore. So many pools. So many restaurants. Never any effort to find a sun bed. The activities were endless. The food divine. The service - over the top.
