Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Huntsville

The pictures on the website was of a different Microtel Hotel. The outside was littered with cigarette butts and an open trash can. The inside has obvious water damage in several areas and has a musty smell! Windows were missing screens and many were damaged. The kitchen area for breakfast was small and could only accommodate one/two people at a time. It had a score of 75 from a recent inspection and it showed! The hotel was not inviting and when I asked to speak to the manager (Mr. S. Patel) to express my concerns and ask for a refund, of course I was met with resistance. In any event, we didn’t stay and they charged us for a night’s stay. I’ve stayed in Microtel’s before and have never had this problem. Would not ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

The stay was horrible. At first check in was great so we thought it would end up being a good experience. By the end of the week long stay we were running out with my clothes still smelling like the room of mildew mold and sour rot. I had to wash them twice to even get the smell out when I got home. (They were only stored in the room the first 4 days) the dront desk was rude and pushing us out at 8am on check out. It’s was noisie and seemed like bad riff raff and what made it worse was the lock on my door did not work. Had to slam it to shut it completely. Looked like it had been kicked it a time or two.

Outside was inviting

Took videos first impression no one in front to great arriving guests. Lobby bathroom disgusting garbage overflowing signage torn walls and floor not cleaned no bathroom checklist. Room lightbulbs needed to be replaced walls had multiple holes everywhere open the closet had an ironing board without an iron and one hanger. TV was small and the remote didn’t turn it on or the volume only the menu display was working. The bathroom tissue holder was falling off the wall again holes in walls needed complete repair and paint also no garbage can and the fan didn’t work mold buildup un top of the shower caulk. Not to mention spider web in upper corner. The carpet looked liked it haven’t been cleaned in a long while. The worst was the complimentary breakfast was embarrassing so much that we left without breakfast, The bread toaster wasn’t working properly three try’s and still didn’t toast the bagel no fruit or eggs offered two types of cereal without just enough milk for maybe two people maximum with a health department rating on only 75. I hate to be so negative but cooperate needs to send a supervisor to inspect this location. To carry the Hilton brand I was expecting quality.

Checked in and the room was mildew-y and filthy. They switched to another room that the toilet was continually running, marijuana & toenails on the floor. Dirty bedding. Desk people were nice. Still waiting for my refund 4 days later and conveniently no manager working every time I call.

This hotel should be condemned. It’s disgusting, never cleaned, electric wires exposed from the AC unit, outlet covers missing, hole in the bathroom ceiling along with rust. Room smelled horribly and it was 90 degrees in the room when we checked in. Elevator was acting up, then noticed it hasn’t been inspected since 2022. It’s likely unsafe.

Falling apart. Sink falling away from the wall, towel rack pulled out of the wall with screws exposed, tub faucet leaked, door sweep falling off, wall painted like a toddler. No covers on the outlets.. should i go on? Stay somewhere else.
