⭐ Honest Review – You Get What You Pay For Stayed: 3rd July – 1 week I stayed at El Mouradi Port El Kantaoui for one week, and to be completely honest – you get what you pay for. This hotel has serious problems that really need to be addressed. Here's my experience: 🏨 Arrival & Reception Reception looked OK at first glance, but the air conditioning was barely working — it was running at a very low setting, making it stuffy and uncomfortable. Check-in was fine, but the general vibe of the hotel already felt old and neglected. 🛏️ Rooms & Cleanliness The hallways have ancient carpets that look like they've been there for decades. I only saw a hoover once the entire week — no sign of daily cleaning. The rooms were very dated and worn — with the same old carpet, loose light fittings, and a bathtub with cut-out holes from previous repairs. The air conditioning in the room was practically useless. It’s a fixed vent above the door with no way to control it — barely any airflow at all. 📶 Internet & Facilities No Wi-Fi in the rooms whatsoever, and it’s not even an option to pay for. Wi-Fi in reception was slow, overcrowded, and often unusable. 🍽️ Food & Drink The food was truly awful. I’m not a fussy eater, but every meal was bland, badly prepared, and lacked even the most basic seasoning. Breakfast was so bad that I often just had a slice of bread and coffee — the only semi-edible option. The 4pm snacks were flavourless pastries — dry and tasteless. The beach snack bar offered pizzas that were just as bad — bland dough, flavourless sauce, and zero seasoning. There’s no juice on tap (font) anywhere in the hotel. Everything is poured from bottles, and often those bottles weren’t even freshly opened, so the drinks were flat and stale. Totally unacceptable. Overall, the drinks and food were just depressing — not made with care or pride. 🚨 Hygiene & Health Concerns I ended up with diarrhoea for 4 days, with severe cramps and stomach pain. I’m convinced it was from the food — and other guests reported the same thing. Whether it was due to poor fridge temperatures, cross-contamination, or improper food handling, it made me anxious to eat anything by the end. Preparing food safely and with care is not difficult — but there was zero attention to this here. 💸 Atmosphere & Extra Costs The whole hotel feels like it's just coasting by — no passion, no effort, no pride. Around the pool area, you're constantly hassled by vendors selling jewellery or pirate ship rides, claiming it’s "only £40–£60". Do they think everyone from the UK is loaded? I also heard poor feedback from other guests about the hammam — overpriced and disappointing. It felt like a constant effort to upsell or squeeze money out of guests, and not in a respectful way. ☀️ The Positives The weather was beautiful the entire week. Some of the staff were kind and clearly trying their best despite the poor working conditions — they deserve more respect and support. Final Thoughts I wasn’t angry — I was just really disappointed. This was my first time in Tunisia, and unfortunately it left a poor impression. If I worked at this hotel, I’d be mortified to see reviews like this. The hotel needs a complete overhaul — from management to kitchen hygiene. It’s not fair on paying guests, and it’s not fair on the staff who are doing their best for very little. If no major changes are made, this place should not be open to guests.

the place is run down and smelly cleaners are for show only we had to bribe cleaner to actually clean room after moving 3 times not enough towels run down and dangerous bathroom wifi is in the lobby only and not reliable this is the short version never again

We arrived late evening at the hotel, we went up to our room and the key wasn't working, we had to wait for someone to open the door for us. The next day, again, we had to ask maintenance to fix our door, turns out there was a little trick to open the door. The room was ok, with a small fridge, air conditioning was working, you can't change the temperature but it keeps the room cool. Spacious rooms, small TV, and a big wardrobe. The bathroom was outdated, the shower felt old and was coming off the wall, but it was ok. Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily. We had a balcony which was nice. Also got a fresh bottle of water everyday. Any extra bottles of water are 1 dinnar from the bar. We booked all inclusive so we ate at the buffee restaurant. The food was ok. Breakfast wasn't for us. Lunch and dinner options were ok. Pretty much the same things over and over again. The desserts were nice. There are water and juice machines around the restaurant. We got bored of the buffet and ate at the pizza restaurant. The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. Staff by the pool kept offering us drinks. They look after you if you tip them. The pools were really nice, plenty of space and lots of sunbeds. Beach is also really nice. Beach towels need a deposit of 20 Dinars and sun beds by the beach are 2 Dinars. You have a cash machine and a money exchange at reception. Overall it was a nice holiday, we enjoyed our time and the staff were really nice. But the food and room lacked a little bit. We also didn't get any wifi in our room, only in the lounge areas.

A nice stay, our first time in Tunisia and reading some reviews, were a bit sceptical. The grounds inside and out are kept very clean, albeit it is tired in places and could use a refurb. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, with a beach bar for a beer or soft drink. You can also have some lunch there buffet style as well as fresh made pizza from half 12. The sand on the beach is super soft, however, there are quite a lot of jelly fish so beware! Heard quite a few screams during our trip. Plenty watersports activities if you like that sort of thing, go down the beach ( turn right and walk a couple mins) and you will get much cheaper prices for these. Food was plentiful with a huge emphasis on seafood- it is right on the coast. Different options at each lunch and dinner time, didn't try anything I disliked. We were there it was very busy first couple of days and the buffet restaurant was chaos- many folks and very little manners. This however is no fault of the hotel, just the clientele at the time. It settled down after those initial days and was fine ( after June 24th). Waiting staff are all so friendly, looking after you at your table with drinks and chat. Note- tip them, they deserve it! Drinks in the all inclusive are limited on spirits- vodka/whisky/rum/gin plus you have beer and wine. A little disappointed the pool bar was not open as this would have been handier during the daytime by the pool. There are two large pools with a sectioned off part for the kiddies. The pool was very clean and lifeguards on duty all day. If you want a sunbed or to pick your space, I'd suggest getting down around 6am. The same applies to the beach, be early if you want a bed- there is no charge for them. Animation team were fantastic and energetic, plenty of daytime activities and some entertainment in the evening. The Tunisian show in particular was excellent. A special mention to Helmi from animation who welcomed our family, got us involved in a lot and generally made us feel special. A true star! Evening time, you can have table service or go to bar yourself, again, tip the guys that are looking after you. A wee 10 dinar every couple of rounds for someone serving you is buttons. Outside of the hotel is very cheap to eat and the quality was always excellent. The hard rock café is only a 5 minute walk away and is a fantastic venue. We were at the opening night of their new outdoor arena with full stage and live music- would definitely recommend. For eating out. Try the Formulae cafe, it's a 10 minute walk away and the food is amazing and very cheap indeed. If you fancy a boat trip, walk down to the harbour and get it there, we got all 3 of us on a pirate boat trip for £25 total whereas the rep in the hotel was wanting £60 per head!!! To summarise, the hotel location and in particular the staff are what makes this place, they are wonderful. Go with an open mind and enjoy the place. If you're looking for something to be negative about, you will always find something- wherever you go. It's not expensive to holiday here but it was definitely value for that money.

L’hôtel est bien situé, avec une plage privée appréciable et un personnel très gentil. Le lieu est sécurisé, ce qui est un bon point. Cependant, plusieurs éléments m’ont déçu. J’avais expressément demandé une chambre rénovée, comme présentée sur les photos, mais cela n’a pas été respecté. De plus, je n’ai pas vu de minigolf sur place, contrairement à ce qui était mentionné. Côté repas, le buffet est varié mais manque de goût – on mange sans réel plaisir. Le ménage dans la chambre aurait aussi mérité plus d’attention. Un cadre prometteur, mais l’expérience globale ne suit pas totalement.

It was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival we noticed our room had not even been cleaned. The shower was absolutely disgusting and had not been cleaned from the previous people. the carpet was filthy with numerous stains and our room had cockroaches. We had to continuously ask for a fridge which was in the room description but when given the fridge did not even work. Could not even go into the restaurant as the smell of fish was extremely strong not suitable for people with fish allergies.

Absolutely vile place ran down dirty nothing for children or even adults to eat! No ice-cream or ice lollies to keep kids hydrated disgusting juice can't even get cold water! Carpets through out whole building absolutely filthy and stinking nothing outside of hotel apart from derelict buildings! The whole place is only what I can describe as a scene from the walking dead! All restaurant staff are rude animation and bar staff ran off their feet! No WiFi unless sat in lobby with 152526 others trying to connect! Food was absolutely disgusting fish and curry for breakfast lunch and tea! My 5 year old son has to live off water melon that was only available twice a day! I would rather holiday in CHERNOBYL!!!!! If It hadn't of already cost us £1500 then an extra £55 at the hotel on top of tourist tax! Then we would of flew home the very next day! IM NEVER ONE TO WRITE REVIEWS AND IM ALWAYS ONE TO IGNORE BAD REVIEWS AND TRY MYSELF PLEASEEEEE DONT DO THAT HERE!!

Just returned from this hotel and unfortunately I have to agree with Sharon, dirty rooms smelly and dated. None of the food was labelled so you didn't know what you was eating it wasn't great either. The hotel needs to close down and have a full refurb. I only left 2 stars because most of the staff were friendly. If you are struggling with the food you might want to try the hard rock cafe which is located about 5 minutes down the road or you can download glovo which will deliver food to your hotel which possibly saved me from starvation. 😁

Do not visit this hotel just back from 1 week there the hotel rooms are disgusting there is carpets in the hotel which are very smelly and dirty. The rooms are dated damaged poor cleaning in need of total renovation. The food was awful travelled with 2 kids 11/10 not options for kids. Also no we’re near enough food for the amount of people in hotel it was like feeding time at the zoo. This hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star rating in my opinion. Almost every sun lounger was broken seen 3 people fall through them in space of 1 week. The toilets around pool and in reception were always dirty and very low on toilet paper I would not recommend this hotel to anyone it’s a disgrace !!!
