"Very relaxing apartments, great location."

8.0

A room with only the beach between you and the sea must be everyones ideal holiday, with all you basic needs at hand. The staff were very efficient and answered all queries for a very enjoyable 3 week stay. Hopefully coming back for a month next year. Stayed from 28/1/13 until 17/2/13.

I would definetly recommend Sunstay beach beach hotel to friends and family. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay and most importantly we were central to all the the cities highlights and entertainment.

"Do not stay here!"

2.0

There is some crazy situation going on here with the ailing tribal situation in South Africa and in the after math of apartheid. I do not recommend anyone to stay here. If you are white be careful.

"well situated to get anywhere especially the beach"

10.0

Very comfortable for the 3 generations staying in the 2 bed apartment, and the few visitors coming for my 60th birthday. Although we were very short of money, the stay at Lagoon Beach made it very special for all of us.

"Great apartments right on the beach"

8.0

I used to live in Cape Town, for many years, and I know there are not many places where you can stay right on the beach. That is why I chose these apartments and we were very satisfied - the location is good, ten minutes from the CBD and ten minutes from the Blouberg area, small shopping centre with supermarket about 5 minutes away, many other shops in surrounding neighbourhoods. The apartment we had, had a view of the lagoon and the beach. The apartment was very clean and well-equipped, the washing machine and dryer a nice touch. Spacious and comfortable. Large balcony. If you want to be near the beach and not too far from the CBD, at a reasonable price, this is probably the best place to be. We had a car, but MyCiti bus stop just outside in the main road, so good for public transport also. We used a taxi one evening for going out (Marine Taxis - highly recommended), and the rate to the CBD was very reasonable. Some reviewers have complained about the surrounding area - I don't quite understand why. There is a light industrial area across Marine Drive (you don't see it at all from the hotel), and further up the road a lower middle class neighbourhood, not threatening or dangerous at all.

"Lagoon Beach Apprtments, Milnerton, Cape Town"

6.0

This appartment hotel is in a good location a short bus ride into Cape Town, although the surrounding area is quite industrial. The beach is safe and clean. The hotel staff are helpfull and the apprtment was average, not really 4* more like a poor 3*. The pools are small. However if you have a car it is a great place to have as your base to stay.

"Nothing like the pictures or the reviews read."

2.0

NOT what I expected. This is at most a 2 star hotel. It is located in a very unsafe area, 3 blocks from drug dealers and prostitutes. I would NEVER take a family with children here. The 24 hour security and surveillance provide a sense of security, it's more like a prison than a 4 star hotel. Front door looks like an office building and there is no signage. Our suite didn't look ANYTHING Like the pictures posted on Expedia. furnishings were beyond basic and worn. It seemed like we weren't even at the same hotel they advertised. The room had a balcony that faced the water, but beach access was through the back corridors to the 'hotel' side and through the storage room for the hotel restaurant. Tiny rooms and the 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds was so small it had NO room for a suitcase. Plus the 'window' was to the hall where there are security lights that stay on 24/7. No way to make the room dark enough for sleeping. There are two bathrooms, but only 1 with a shower, that had NO water pressure. The floors are all laminate and tile and transmit every sound, very noisy. There was no security peephole in the front door, so you have no idea who is there...scary considering how unsafe the area is. Stay away from this hotel. You are better off downtown or if you can afford it, Camps Bay.
