I just stayed here for a night to catch a flight out of DTW. While convenient, the hotel definitely shows signs of being in a "captive market" where customers, especially Bonvoy/Marriott "loyalists" may not look elsewhere. Broken elevator. Terrible internet and wifi (which unlike other Bonvoy properties) is open, connected automatically and did NOT ask user to sign-in - but kept dropping! "Narrowest" breakfast options I have seen at a Marriott. We were also assigned a room with accommodations for differently-abled but the beds were TERRIBLY LOW and beds soft, lumpy and creaky. My worst Bonvoy hotel ever - having spent the last 18 nights in 5 Bonvoy hotels in Jacksonville, FL (1) Gainesville,FL (2); Ypsilanti, MI (3), and Geneva,OH (4) . This one (5) really disappointed.

Room was great only thing in room 132 light from the parking lot comes through alot and ot can interfere with sleep other than that hotel was great.

I stayed at this hotel due to a flight cancellation. There aren't many options close to DTW, so I went with Fairfield because I'm a Bonvoy member and I typically know what to expect. This may be the worst Fairfield Inn & Suites that I've ever stayed in. As soon as I opened the door to my room, it smelled like my 13 year old had left all of his dirty socks in the room after playing sports. Yuck! It was an absolutely disgusting smell. I tried to move rooms, but because of all the flight cancellations, the property was completely full. It was late at night, and all I wanted to do was go to sleep as I had to get up at 4 am for my next flight. I didn't unpack anything as the room just felt very dirty and old and it grossed me out. When I woke up, I discovered that there were ants everywhere in the bathroom. I realize that Fairfield is one of the more basic Marriott hotels, but this one falls way below Marriott standards. Very old property; dated furniture in rooms; and ants. I didn't see any bed bugs in my room (and I checked), but worried about it after I left.
