Really liked this hotel. Like others in Italy the shower is a bit small, but worked excellent. Service was impeccable and friendly. Include the breakfast option, it it totally worth it. Will be back.

Our room had two had 3 single beds and one queen bed. No room to move or sit, they wanted 20 euros per night extra to change rooms, no wifi unless you stand in the hall doorway, they thought that was fine, the safe was on the floor, such a chore to get on the floor to use it. Breakfast and lobby bar were good. I have photos, just terrible.

This hotel looks good from the outset but it has been run down and has old carpets and bathrooms. Morning breakfast does not have much warm food except (boiled and scrambled eggs). Staff are not greatly helpful and should have better knowledge of Area. Overall it was ok for a couple of nights stay.

This is maybe a 3 star hotel, but their staff is 5 star!

I have major regrets staying with Porto Azzuro. Although it was clean, it was dingy (eg carpets). Customer service was terrible - for example, the desk person told us we couldn’t catch a taxi and sent us to take the bus - on a day when buses were not running (Jan 1) thus wasting our time waiting for a bus which never came, and we missed an opportunity to go to a museum which we had already bought tickets to (which was open Jan 1). Also, the room safe didn’t work and wasn’t fixed which caused us great concern. Finally, the food at breakfast was terrible and we had concerns about food safety. For example the scrambled eggs were stone cold after coming out of the dish - and when we mentioned it to staff their response was for us to microwave them! The gluten free breakfast was awful - a basket of junky prepackaged items with no nutritional value (cookies, high sugar low nutrition items). A huge contrast from other hotels with gluten free breakfasts with fresh baking or at least cereals. If anyone reading this is looking for a hotel with quality AIC food I strongly recommend they go to Hotel Riel instead. It had a restaurant attached to it with “real” fresh gluten free food. Major disappointment with Porto Azzuro.

A lovely hotel, well situated within walking distance of the old and new parts of Sirmione. The lake was within close walking distance as well, and the mountains could be seen from our window. A perfect place to stay if you’re thinking of visiting Sirmione!

For a short budget stay this may work but beds were not comfortable. Breakfast was bare minimum quality for what Italy can offer. The hotel has seen its hayday, but not in its current state, with significant decline from when it got all those Trip Advisor ratings....
