Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

Everything about this hotel was marvellous. The standard of service was so high and the staff very professional throughout. This friendliness was so appreciated. The food was divine, a great selection and all freshly prepared. Lounging by the pool was pleasant even though the weather turned a little cloudy in the afternoon. Our only complaint was that each night we did endure the very loud music coming from the club next door. It must be because of the way our room faced but it did mean our sleep was affected. One night the music went on till 5 a.m Anyway, all in all we had a wonderful stay.

I actually wrote this review a few days after we returned but forgot to post the draft. It's not an afterthought. Chose to stay here as we stayed here the last time we were in Colombo before Covid. Disappointed that the service has slipped a lot since then. The last time we were here we were impressed by the restaurant and pool staff in particular. This time around that (and the inexplicably long amount of time it takes to check in and out) was a big disappointment. Most times at breakfast the place was very busy. Seems to be very popular with Indians as large groups were often at breakfast. Not sure if it's cultural awareness, entitlement or plain rude but some of these people don't know how to behave in public and the staff clearly don't know how to manage them. Many times they would use our table while we were seated to keep their empty plates or take our cutlery for their use. WTF. I told one or two that it wasn't acceptable and they gave me the death stare. When I mentioned this was not acceptable to the wait staff they didn't know how to respond. My girls and mother in law used the pool. After swimming they were told they couldn't wrap themselves in their towel and return to the room like they do at every other 5 star hotel we have been to. They had to return the pool towel then and there. They were not prepared to have to change back into their street clothes without rinsing off and having nothing to dry themselves with other than the used pool towel. They were not about to walk back to the room in damp swimming gear for a shower (I bet the local pervs and male staff would have loved that sight). Does hotel management really think we're going to steal a $5 used pool towel to have such a policy enforced? Clearly the pool staff don't have the power to use their discretion as my mother in law is an elderly and very modest person. For the price we paid, the service did not meet our expectations and we will not stay here again. There are better options - even the 4 star Ramada has better service than here.

Rooms are not being checked by staff and I had call several times for service and fix issues. Bath robes , toothbrush were not provided

Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great location and lake view, swimming pool, gym, sauna and stream room are really nice! Breakfast is busy, lots of Indian and Chinese food options, food is not kept warm enough

We came to the cinnamon lakeside late night 12.30am. and we were greeted my kavinda and he made us feel so warm. He's got a friendly smile. Suggested us what's popular in menu. Incredible food, and beverage. Thank you mate, making our visit memorable

Location is great. Easy access to places. Pretty atmosphere. Rooms are very clean and up to date. Value for the money. Very clean friendly staff.

Service was excellent topnotch.Staff are very friendly and attentive.Rooms are clean and well maintained.Breakfast buffet is multi cuisine and has an Indian vegetarian food section as well. We had a nice and pleasant stay .

The staff were excellent. Their genuine smiles and helpfulness really made their service exceptional.
