Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Bay

My husband and I were very pleased with Fairfield Bay resort! It is on a golf course, we don't golf but the area was beautiful. The condo was perfect. It was very clean and had everything we needed! We had to call for maintenance on the dryer. The maintenance person was there immediately and very personable. We loved hiking the many trails in the area. It is off season and actually found this to be a plus. The marina was slow and no problem getting a pontoon ride to Sugarloaf Mountain Island. We had the island to ourselves to explore. Don't miss the Indian Rock House Cave Trail. The museum at the start of the trail is a stop that everyone should make. The lady in the museum was awesome. She gave us so much information on where to go in the area! We would definitely stay there again.

We checked in just after sundown. The roads are very dark and a bit difficult to see our turnoffs. Our unit was in Mountain Ridge on the lower level. There are stairs on the outside for the upper and lower units that may be an issue for others so request one without stairs if you prefer. The unit was clean, spacious, and well stocked kitchen. Our oven went out the second day and maintenance was very quick to resolve the issue. They have board games at the front desk that can be checked out. We took the trail to Indian Rock Cave which has petroglyphs dating back to 1,000 BC. The small cabin museum near the golf course was closed, which was disappointing. We intended to take the ferry at Fairfield Bay to Sugarloaf Mountain, but it was windy. Looked like a fun activity. The marina was nice. We found the short nature/fitness trail near the RV campground and "worked out". The Little Red restaurant at Indian Hills golf course had good catfish. We would not recommend El Poblano Mexican restaurant, unless you like baseball stadium nacho cheese sauce, bland red sauce, and mysterious meat tamale filling. The service was slow, but the margarita was good. Craven's grocery store was close by and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fall colors and the quiet time we had.

The area was BEAUTIFUL. NICE & QUIET. PEACEFUL. 😁😁

Beds are terrible. Not comfortable AT ALL. My Back HURT every time I layed down to try to sleep. Pillows need to be better also. No firmness. Goes flat when u put your head on them. TV channels were not good either.
