The Oaks Waterfront Hotel

Pasted by this establishment for years. I received a mailing about happy hour. I decided to try it. As you can see from my reviews I spend much time in France every year. The food here is better than most establishments in France. I was first impress by the greeting by Linda. After seating us the waitress arrived. Her love of the food and the establishment was obvious and truly refreshing . The view of both the water and the ambiance of the restaurant is stunning. Then the main event started. The food was off the charts great but the creative and attention to detail was only surpassed by the quality of the ingredients. The wine list is very reasonable for the quality. I have collected wine for over 50 years. The house happy hour wine is extremely good for the price. Happy hour is a steal and a way to experience the restaurant. I will return often for happy hour and stay for dinner. Fridays has live music.

The recently renovated hotel and setting are beautiful. The dining room experience was excellent. Close to St. Michaels and Easton, The Oaks is great for a poke weekend stay.

Its a pretty building with large additions for guest rooms on a creek located in a residential neighborhood.

After living in Talbot County for 23 years, we met some friends at The Oaks restaurant for dinner, which was our very first time visiting this hidden gem. I can’t say enough about this place. Now decorated for Christmas, the views in the evening were breathtaking from the moment we parked the car. The staff at the restaurant was phenomenal. Linda immediately introduced herself, welcomed us, and took our coats. Before we were seated, we were allowed to walk around to just soak in some of the nighttime views. Deborah was an excellent server and the food was superb. The women had the short ribs and the men had the halibut and both dishes were cooked to perfection. Thanks to the Oaks and staff, we had an amazing evening catching us with our friends from the other side of the bay. We will definitely be back for dinner.

First, let me say how lovely my wife and I experience was at The Oaks from the time we arrived until our departure. The staff was so welcoming and attentive which made the stunning accommodations that much-more attractive. We decided on a cottage, which was perfect for our much needed downtime. The cottage furnishings were elegant and every attention to detail was meant. In addition, to the staff and accommodations, our dining experiences were delightful ... the halibut to the hamburger were delicious. Oh, and the pancakes for breakfast were outstanding. Even our dining experience in St. Michael's was enjoyable, great seafood! Lastly, let me say, we have found a jewel on the eastern shore. For us, it was a blessing, a place where we could unwind, recharge, and just relax. We definitely are looking forward to our next stay at The Oaks! Jose & Yvette

My daughter is ill with cancer and I was looking for a quiet place we could get away to for a few days. Knowing this would be our last girls trip I wanted everything to be perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make sure not only my daughter and I were taken care of but also my fur baby, Lucy. Our room was extremely comfortable, and the chef prepared evening meals were 5 star! And I cant say enough about the support we received, and the love we felt. Thank you everyone for making our time together one I will cherish forever.

The Oaks Waterfront Hotel is truly a fairytale! My wife and I spent two nights immediately following our wedding in one of the cottages and could not have wished for a more relaxing and serene place to relax and unwind from the craziness of our wedding planning and wedding weekend. First and foremost, the property... This Hotel is GORGEOUS. The grounds are majestic. From sitting in Adirondacks by the water to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee or our front to watch the sunset behind the trees to walking through the garden, this place is magical. I have lived my whole life in Maryland and spent countless hours around the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River and have never seen as many Bald Eagles as I did during my stay at The Oaks. The restaurant and bar at The Oaks is on par with any fine dining establishment I have ever eaten at or worked at. The included breakfast with your stay is a full menu of high end, gourmet breakfasts. The French Toast was some of the best I have ever had. The crab meat in the omelet was so lumpy and delicious. The breakfast sandwich was hearty and cooked perfectly. All of this being included in the price of your stay feels like a steal! The bartender mixed up some of the best drinks I have ever had. As a former bartender whose father has been a steakhouse bartender for over 40 years, The Oaks has done an incredible job finding bartenders who can create wonderful and refreshing cocktails. The dinner service was immaculate. I had the Halibut and my wife had the House Salad with Shrimp. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sides were delightful. As my wife said, "For a house salad, this salad is SO GOOD!" The wine selection was perfect. From affordable, delicious wines to some heavy hitters, their wine list was surprisingly deep for a hotel/resort. I could not recommend the restaurant and bar enough. If you live in the area, are staying at another place, or just passing through; You would be remised not to stop in and have a wonderful evening here. The service provided by the staff was above and beyond anything I could ever hope for. The professionalism and quick response from all of the staff made me feel so at ease. I was truly able to relax and not have a worry in the world. Everyone working here were so genuinely polite and sweet. The cleaning staff, the restaurant staff, the groundskeeping staff, and the concierge staff were all top notch. This place has it all. They have a beautiful shuttle service to take you around the area and are quick to respond when you need them. They even have a fleet of bicycles on racks that you can use to venture out and explore the surrounding area. My wife and I will be making The Oaks our anniversary getaway forever after such a special and amazing time spent here. This hotel has one problem: it sets the bar so high that any other place we stay will be a disappointment. We fell in love with The Oaks Waterfront Hotel the moment we pulled into the driveway. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. Renovated in 2023, the hotel looks brand new. The professionally done decor is perfect in so many ways. We chose the Waterfront Suite and didn't want to leave. The hotel staff was helpful, kind, and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The hotel is truly a feast for the eyes, inside and out. We will make a yearly stay at The Oaks Waterfront Hotel a tradition. Thank you to everyone at The Oaks Waterfront Hotel for making our 3-night getaway a real treat.

We were there 15 minutes when I said we are coming back again next year. Well we are coming back twice next year-once in June and again in September. I have stayed multiple times at the Inn at Perry Cabin and this is more than a step above. From the moment Linda greets you and Shelby takes your bags, you know you are welcomed. Absolutely no noise from any other room or the lobby area. Everything is immaculate and the food is exceptional. We ate light the last night and had the burger. It was absolutely one of the best burgers WE ever had. Breakfast is huge and we didn’t need to have lunch (I did have a milkshake in St. Michaels but that doesn’t count). I just hope I haven’t jacked up the rates with this review because we are coming back the year after as well.
