"A really nice budget hotel for families."

10.0

This is a really nice family hotel towards the end of the Ixia strip, although there is a strip of shops directly the outside. It is well positioned for travel as it is around 30-45 mins walk into Rhodes town and there are Taxis outside the hotel with set rates to Rhodes and further afield. The beach across the road (via an underground tunnel) has hotel owned sun loungers. The pools are really nice and there is a kids pool with a pirate ship up the side of the hotel too where the kids club is. There is a main restaurant, a pool bar and a cocktail bar. We were AI and food was ok, plenty choice with a repeating theme. Pool bar is great for gyros and fresh pizza during the day, good selection of ice cream and sorbet too. Loads of places to eat nearby if you are self catering. For breakfast there was a chef making omelettes in the veranda every morning and they were brilliant, I never caught her name but she made my holiday. Local beer is ok, the red wine is a bit sharp but found a splash of white in the glass first made a big difference. The cocktail AI menu is pretty good and the spirits aren't bad. All the bar staff work hard, I found they warmed to us a bit once they realised we tidied up after ourselves and didn't leave mess everywhere. Some families left the tables and sun loungers in a terrible state. I honestly think this hotel has some of the hardest working staff I have seen, we were there right at the end of the season so some were beginning to leave for the winter but they were attentive right up to the end. We stayed in an annex room overlooking the sea and it was a nice room, a it basic and tired but all the facilities worked. There is also a gym although the exercise bikes were both broken which was a shame.

The hotel has poor amenities, the food was not very good, the employee ate from the egg counter who made the eggs which he put in his mouth and continiued to serve it happend 4 days at breakfast, the softdrinks machine at breakfast was always warm, the manager appeared in the breakfast room after 5 days we told him about the problems and he offered to give us an iced coca cola and bring us some frappe bags, because he was asking us for money while we had paied all inclusive , at the bar they served us me and my wife separately drinks from this night until the next day at noon i had to throw up and i had diarrhea many times that never hapens in my life i have very strong organism, something was in my drink. At swiming pool bar we found a black latex glove in my pizza we have pictures from this ,the staff were polite and so the cleaner lady at our room.We have stay in many hotels but this is 3star.

"Not for us"

6.0

We stayed at this hotel as a couple in September on an all inclusive basis. Unfortunately this hotel was not for us. The rooms were basic and we had a number of problems with our shower and they did try to fix it but unsuccessfully. The towels were quite thin and the balcony had a hedge on it which harboured alot of mosquitos so rendered it unusable. The drinks were very sweet and it didn't matter which drink you asked for they never seem to have any alcohol in, apart from one night when we questioned the barman and he made us a special gin and tonic. The food was OK but again the fruit juice at breakfast was very sweet more like a cordial or you could have fizzy fanta. The pool area was brilliant and the animation team were great the best aqua aerobics team I have ever seen and they got so many people involved. The hotel is quite isolated, not much around to walk to, although there is a bus stop outside but be beware they often don't stop as they are full. All in all not for us but thats just my opinion, might be better for families.

"Lovely holiday"

10.0

We visited this hotel with our 7 year old, 16 year old and other family at the end of August. What a great hotel! We did notice on day 2 that the pool was very cloudy so we reported it to the reception. We was later approached by the hotel manager who told us that the pump was broken and they was trying to get it fixed. the next day it was a lot worse so we tried to keep our daughter out. We went over to the beach which is just over the road, with a tunnel underneath which was easier to access instead of the busy main road. There was a great little beach bar there too. Day 4 and the pool finally looked a lot cleaner! The entertainment team were great and really put on a show with aqua gym and day time entertainment. Evening entertainment was very different, with a 30 min mini disco then some random evenings of singers and discos. One night they had a local Greek group come in with dancing which was a nice treat, something different. The bar staff are brilliant, cocktails great and made as you like them. Food was lovely, during the day the poolside snack bar had a great variety and had salads, fruit, pancakes, hot dogs, gyros, chips, chicken, fresh pizzas. The evening buffet had so much choice and was lovely. We had an incredible pasta dish on the italian night! Rooms were kept clean by housekeeping team, who also taught my little girl some Greek phrases too so that she could speak with them which was lovely of them. It was my birthday whilst there and we came back to the room in the afternoon to banners and balloons and a beautiful personalised cake - although they spelt my name wrong! Shop pretty much on site/just at the front of the hotel ran by 2 incredible men who went out of their way to stock some takis for my kids that they didn't usually stock which was amazing! We ended up spending a fortune in there! All round lovely hotel although lots of kill joys complaining about the music during the day at the family pool - when they have a quiet relaxing pool round the corner they could move too! If you dont like it lively, move! Would we go back again - yes!!

"Overall a Lovely Stay"

Ruth Wilson Local Guide · 18 reviews · 23 photos       Pending We stayed here for our honeymoon in October and had high hopes as we were trying all inclusive for the first time. The staff were generally friendly, and the bar staff were all so lovely! The food was hit and miss. Fairly good for an omnivore like my husband, but sometimes a struggle for vegetarians. There were always a few options, but signage could be wrong at times and they tended to be less tasty than the meat options - some were delicious though! I loved the pastries in the morning especially. We also loved the drinks and found the pool bar drinks were typically weaker (but nicer!) than those in the hotel bar itself. The pool was freezing. The British saying goes "it'll be alright once you're in" - we stayed in a good 10 minutes and never warmed up even slightly! The sea is much warmer and the free sunbeds there are always available, just make sure to get some water shoes! The rooms were probably the biggest letdown. No issues with cleanliness, but we asked for a double bed (specifically not 2 beds pushed together) and when we arrived, we got 2 beds pushed together, even separate bedding. They were accommodating and moved us the next day, but this was still 2 beds together, just with 1 sheet instead so you'd fall down the gap in the night a little. The hairdryer was mounted on the wall in the bathroom, and upon opening/shutting the door, it would shut on the hairdryer and knock it off the wall, and the shower would flood the bathroom if you took a shower over 5 minutes. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would give this 5* if those few details could be fixed.

"A Very Welcoming and Comforting Hotel"

10.0

We attended the Sol Cosmopolitan late October as a family of 8, (4adults/4kids). Arriving late night on October 21st we were met with a very warm welcome and selection of food and drinks to settle us in. We were brought to our rooms efficiently with a lot of information about local transport and events held by the hotel that would suit both the kids and adults. During our stay we really indulged in the food offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Such and amazing selection, everything from adventurous seafood (octopus in ink, mussels, pagasus and even fish fingers to keep the younger clientele happy) I must say the omelettes made by the female blonde chef each morning were exceptional, definitely my favourite part of breakfast, you pick your fillings and she will cook them in front of you. I regret not asking her name as she definitely deserves a mention.. Dinner was also delicious, plenty of choice and areas to suit every taste, fresh stone baked pizza, authentic Gyro, simple sides like fries, salads etc (all of which is also available alla minute in the pool bar) The night Staff are amazing, stand out barman is Mike! What a treasure this man is, my kids loved him, made them all types of mocktails with no hesitation, and although I was all inclusive I couldn’t resist but to ask him to make me something special (which is needed to paid for) . He didn’t disappoint, I had my first ever Paloma and an authentic Negroni, he always also made a point of saying hello and give a friendly wave anytime he seen us in and around the hotel. He provided a very special experience for us, and especially when the kids sat on the high stools to order their mocktails, Mike is a credit to Sol Cosmopolitan. The entertainment team were incredible, Alice was the star, she was amazing with all the events like face painting, dancing, singing etc and was always very friendly and helpful throughout the day. I’m definitely going to make a point of booking this hotel when I return to Rhodes. Thank you so much for an incredible holiday

"Excellent"

10.0

I came towards the end of October with my wife and two girls and we all really loved it. Lesley and the entertainment team, were excellent specially with my girls. The hotel was lovely and clean I cannot complain one bit. The food choice was great. I would probably say the pool bar could do with a couple more choices but it’s not bad at all. All the staff were friendly and fantastic we had a amazing stay. We are just waiting for next years dates to come through so we can book again.

"Average stay"

8.0

We enjoyed our stay here, I am going to summarise the good and not so good parts Good 🛏️Rooms are spacious and cleaned frequently 🏊Pool is big 🏖️The walk to Rhodes old town straight along the beach is picturesque Big balcony Indifferent 🏖️ Not great beach... Pebbly, the walk through the tunnel is smelly. The beach on this side of the island are not as good as the other side. 🍻 Bar wouldn't serve us a drink until 5.30!! And then closed at 11pm. Never ever heard of this but it worked in our favour 🏊Pool is freezing but you do get used to it. Bad Got stung with city tax. Was not expecting that at 70euro per room! 🍻Drinks are just sugar syrup. Awful for AI 🍲Food- just not that great. Lived on chips and salad. There were some nice souvlaki one night. Breakfast was poor, cereal and milk were strange. Hot food was always luke warm at best. 🛏️Room- our room was right next to the bar area and it was like people were on our balcony... So glad for the 11pm.drink curfew Overall it was good but not great. Would i come back-probably.

"Fun stay"

10.0

I had a wonderful stay at Sol Cosmopolitan Rhodes - a modern, clean hotel with very friendly staff. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, with a cozy bed, a spotless bathroom, and useful modern amenities; daily housekeeping kept everything in great shape. The location is very convenient - an easy ride to Rhodes Old Town and close to local beaches and restaurants, which made exploring simple. The atmosphere at the hotel is lively but relaxed, perfect for both families and couples. Special praise to the entertainment team led by Leslie, who provided plenty of fun and energy throughout the day and evening. Many thanks to Giorgos from the main bar - always smiling, helpful, and serving delicious drinks. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great atmosphere and professional service.

"A couple of niggles but overall we had a nice time."

8.0

Overall we had a very nice holiday at the Cosmopolitan. The staff were wonderful and the hotel was clean. We enjoyed having lunch at the pool bar, always fresh and the pizza was lovely. Breakfast was generally good, but tea was a struggle at times. Our room was an excellent size, we had a sea view family room with partition doors. Beds were comfy and more pillows provided when asked. We had a few niggles with our holiday and they are as follows. 1.) We were in room 34 overlooking the main road and over the bar. It was so noisy with traffic and music being played until 3am. 2.) The shower in our room wasn't great, the bar on the wall where you could adjust the height had no grip and you couldn't raise the height of the shower. Fine for my children, I could just squeeze under, but not ideal for my 6ft husband. Also 1 evening we returned to the room and had no hot water. 3.) Getting to the end of season, there were times we felt the hotel were turning the lights off around us. All the drinks pumps ran out of apple juice and it was never sorted. In our last 3 days, the pool bar was closed by 7pm, when advertised to close at midnight I believe. Knowing how empty the hotel got, I wish we had asked to see if it would have been easy to move rooms but we made a choice. Would we go back, probably not, but that's more from the fact that there are other places in the world to go. Overall, it did the job and we did have a lovely, warm week away.
