Plaza Mexicana Margarita's Hotel

Rooms are around a central garden courtyard. Decent size rooms, nice and clean. Bathroom god; hot shower. TV and (slow) internet. Heating. Dinner and breakfast included and served 100 m or so up the road at sister establishment. Recommended.

TWO MAIN ISSUES - and the most important one....we arrived a day early so our stay was 3 days - not two...the first night we had some bites - assuming they were mosquitoes or such...by the third and last night, my husband and I were covered with BEDBUG bites...we would like to make this known so other visitors don't experience this nightmare....you can imagine the undertaking of fumigating our luggage, clothing, personal items on our return home. - never mind the physical and metal discomfit . our room was #2 in the sister hostel/hotel of Plaza Mexicana Margarita - as I recall, the name is Casa Margarita. Second issue - when they could'nt find our reservation, they blamed Hotels.com. They said you don't get it right and the reservation communication is inconsistent.

La estancia fue muy cómoda, personal agradable y atento, limpieza muy buena. Al incluir el desayuno y la cena dan un extra que es bueno. Todo está cerca y en el mismo hotel se ofrecen recorridos turísticos para aprovechar más la zona a un costo razonable. Si vas a Creel, es una de tus mejores opciones.

"Margarita" actually has two hotels that function in tandem. Both are fine, but the rooms in the one away from the plaza (where meals are served) are larger and more comfortable, as is the central courtyard around which the rooms are arranged. The staff was very helpful.

Least part of a 2 month trip. Creel is a long street with no charm. Hotel promised a strong wifi and did not deliver. Son of owner tried to persuade me to change plans in the Copper Canyon to a family owned hotel outside the town of Batopilas.

They didnt have our reservation, so i had to call expedia and tjey call them back to fix the issue, while we wait over 30 min at the front desk, also the staff was a bit unprofessional, check in was at 11am, our room was dirty and they cleaned it till 2pm, no curtains on the window, no bath curtain either. Its pretty close from everything, they offer tours, the tour staff is very polite.

I liked the policy of offering a package that included breakfast and dinner with the room. That said, on two of my four days, the hotel was full and the dining room and staff were overwhelmed by too many people wanting to be served within a short period of time. Their cash-only policy for payments is fair enough, but I wish I had known that before I arrived.

My GF and I stayed here for two nights as part of a 3 week trip round northern Mexico and the Copper Canyon. First impressions were very poor as the chap on reception was very grumpy and it took us a while to get him to acknowledge our booking. This was speaking in reasonable Spanish and not at a busy time. The room was very pretty and had good amenities, as was the central courtyard. Bed comfy, shower decent, WiFi pretty ropey - but Internet seemed ropey everywhere in Creel. The included dinner and breakfast were lovely. No options, but wholesome local fayre, and plenty of decent coffee at breakfast! On the morning of our second day, requested to stay another (third) night. We were told this should be okay, and they would confirm. When we got back that evening, we enquired about the status of our request and were told very bluntly that the hotel was fully booked, so no. This wasn't a problem, but it was frustrating to have lost a whole day to make arrangements to find alternative accommodation! So a lovely place, but with unwelcoming and unhelpful staff in the reception. The Hotel Cascada Inn, where we stayed our third night in Creel, was much more welcoming, and a little bit nicer, but about 10% more expensive.
