The location is great, right on the river

Was what We expected.

It’s an old hotel 1880 but has a modern annex, in which we stayed. The staff are very helpful and friendly and even arriving back at midnight they had made sure that the room a/c was on and most welcomed as it had been 37° during the day. Breakfast was good, buffet style and there was a good choice. We opted for English breakfast and followed with coffee and croissants sat on the deck overlooking the river, most pleasant in 33° of heat. Would we return? Without hesitation.

Just a little improvement to the entrance and reception which belies the charm and character of the hotel. Everything else was fine.

Loved the air con in rooms and the modern design.

Hated the car parking, if you’re paying £90+ a room you shouldn’t have to worry about being there in time for a space based on your “first-come first-serve policy” or having an additional £10.00 parking charge on top of your room. I drove 3.5 hours after work and really struggled to find a space after multiple attempts.
