Thames Riviera Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Superb location on the river Thames. We had a room with balcony and river view and it was spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very adequate. And we had a meal in the evening which was also fine. Plenty of parking.

There is no signal so you can't use your mobile phone. We did have a landline phone in the room. We were in the annexe on the 2nd floor without a lift. Some refurbishment is required. And because they are short staffed service can be slow. But the charm of the hotel, the location, the friendliness make up for these things.

The room was sufficient to what was required, I wasn’t expecting anything special and certainly didn’t receive it. The staff did their job as well as they possibly could and were friendly and professional.

I've known this hotel for many years and the lack of investment certainly shows but havent been there for a few years. The location is superb but its just feels unloved, I suppose its the sign of the times. I didnt realise it was a Best Western until I got there so you get what you pay for I suppose. When we arrived there was only one person doing the desk and the bar and bits in the restaurant so took a bit of time to get booked in and then a drink.

The rooms need some TLC, but for the money perfectly serviceable. Great to have so many single rooms- PERFECT for a girls getaway

Excellent position on the Thames on the edge (but easily in walking distance) of the very pleasant town of Maidenhead and excellent local restaurants. Clean, comfortable and with friendly and professional staff. On-site parking very useful

The bed had a heavy wooden carved bed end that we kept bumping into.

I requested a room that my disabled wife could reach without having to climb many stairs. The hotel got the message but allocated us a room on the 4th floor, with no lift. A friend of ours also found that her message requesting a room with a bath had not been read by anyone.

Our room contained a kettle, but only one teabag and one little sachet of milk.
