The smoked salmon for breakfast was the best I have ever had out of this world

The staff were very slow with the service during the evening meal, barely existant for breakfast to the point when the toast never arrived and we had to find the girl to order breakfast at all

Cleanliness, and how run down the bathroom was,no hand soap for our first night stay,housekeeping didn't seem to be bothered 😕, we bought some in a small shop in the village,,however there was soap put into the bathroom for the rest of our stay,but this issue is totally unacceptable,its not a 4**** establishment more like 3*** a dog chew left on the floor from a previous guest, we were in a dog friendly room,(which hadn't been hoovered from previous guest)so if we were going to get hungry through the night,it was reassuring to know there was a dog chew sitting on the carpet!!! The bed mattress wasn't comfortable. The springs popped when you turned or moved!!! The radiator didn't work,cobwebs with dust!!! Not 4***, down back of bedside cabinets filthy, needs a deep clean through out all of room 14,we would never have booked a dog friendly room,but noticed the charge £15 extra for cleaning these rooms clearly the previous guests were ripped off,as the room hadn't been cleaned to any standard!! Although the property is up for sale,,,,good luck with the sellers,as it's in a very sorry state,and whoever takes on the property will need deep pockets!!

Lovely spacious room, comfy bed and delicious food. Very busy restaurant but quiet in the room.

Convenient location and the food was lovely and fairly priced. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was rather tired and very hot, with no way to open the velux window.

We stayed for one night for a nearby wedding. The room was dated and tired, but clean. Breakfast took a while and wasn't great. There was only one waitress doing everything. The breakfast food quality wasn't great and everything was very greasy. I couldn't eat it.

The hotel was comfortable, quite pleasant and in a good location.

The breakfast was adequate. The hot breakfast was freshly cooked to order - however when ordering from a long list of items I asked for 'bacon & egg' and received one small rasher of bacon and 1 egg, I felt this seemed a bit mean but at least the hotel is helping the UK population tackle it's obesity problem. So well done !
