Ettington Park Hotel

Staffs are super nice and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and very pleasant environment. We love to stay here longer next time.

Our fourth stay (one was many years ago) and this time we had the Shirley suite which was delightful. A generous size, with plenty of seating, overlooking the lovely grounds, comfortable bed, interesting bathroom with a slipper bath and a large walk in shower. Personally, we would have preferred a conventional bath for practical reasons but it was ok. Room cleanliness was good and staff are always helpful and very pleasant. There do seem to be some problems in the dining room in terms of insufficient staff at breakfast, shown in unlaid / half laid tables and long waits for service, including one day when requests were just forgotten! We did not have dinner as we do not find the current menu very appealing: too pretentious and too much of an attempt to offer “fine dining” without a good mix of ingredients.

The property was indeed majestic but the level of cleanliness within the overall hotel was disappointing. Carpets remained unhoovered and dirty all week and for a 5* hotel was not expected.

The grounds were beautiful. What I didn’t like was that the cleaners don’t do their job properly, there were dead spiders and insects in our room. Also we saw some flies around the continental breakfast area.

May be the most amazing place I've EVER stayed. Beautiful historic manor type home converted to a hotel. Unforgettable stay!!
