Grand Victorian - Spring Lake

From the outside it is a lovely looking beach front Hotel at the Jersey Shore. Unfortunately, we were told that there is no parking on the property unless you are in a suite. You have to park across the street due to Spring Lake laws that don't allow overnight parking on the inside streets. We had to park 2 blocks from the hotel. It's not so much about the walk back but none of the suite parking spots were in use while we were there. It would have been nice of the staff to allow us to use them for our one-night stay. The Rooms are clean and pleasant, but the beds are extremely hard. Not firm but hard like a concrete walkway. We don't get away too often and it would have been nice to have a comfortable bed to sleep in. I would not recommend this Hotel to my friends or family.

The property is across the street from the beach in Spring Lake, NJ so it's very picturesque.

Staff and service was very accommodating. Welcoming, friendly and very helpful ready to make your stay memorable. I appreciate the personal attention given to myself and each guest as they arrived.

The bed and view of the ocean were wonderful. Stayed in Room #4. But, the photos attached show what is not acceptable when paying over $300 per night. Small fixes are easy. When not fixed they take the experience way down. No screens in windows when opened for some fresh air. Happy no bugs came in. This is a great location directly across from the beach. Stay comes with chairs, towels, and umbrellas along with beach passes. This is very nice. Amelia‘s restaurant is also very nice for lunch and dinner. No place to sit other than your room and the side lawn. A lot of rooms, but only parking for 4. If you’re a late sleeper, you won’t enjoy the early morning vacuuming in the halls. No refrigerators or safes in rooms. I was told new owners will be updating and renovating. I hope so, so I can come back again next year. The staff was very kind and accommodating.

Great stay

Beautifully maintained. Very clean. Only one downside was extremely tiny bathroom. Front desk staff were all amazingly accommodating, friendly, and do anything to make you feel welcomed. Very wonderful experience.

This property has had many upgrades and major improvements since the last time we stayed many years ago and we were thoroughly impressed! The entire staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The grounds were impeccable. Our room #3, on the second floor was very clean, bed extremely comfy. It had 3 windows one of which gave a spectacular view for the sunrise. The location is perfect! Steps from the beach; bonus is that beach tags, chairs, umbrellas and towels provided, we did not use provided bikes. There was never a line to wait for early morning coffee downstairs. We knew breakfast was not included or on site. There is a side lawn with chairs, and the boardwalk which is steps away has plentiful benches to sit and relax in the evening. We look forward to booking another stay at the Grand Victorian! We noticed that the boardwalk and beach area to be very safe and has a strong police presence, also found beach patrol and lifeguards very helpful. (Observed a young lifeguard go and offer aid to elderly folks walking through the sand to their beach chairs) (Our favorite place to eat is a short drive to Belmar for amazing vegetarian food at Kaya’s Kitchen…save room for dessert!)

Loved everything!! The stag was phenomenal!! The only thing was the cold showers.

It was a great experience, and very close to the beach.. They have amazing restaurants right around the corner . Staff was amazing and always there if we needed them .

Clean hotel with a very nice staff and an excellent location. The staff had a golf cart ready to help with bags and accommodated our late check in. Every person we encountered couldn't be nicer. They have beach badges and chairs for you. They clean your room daily and the maid staff were also very nice and did a great job. There is a very popular (and delicious) restaurant downstairs, so the lobby area is just a room -but you have 24/7 access to it with an ice machine, cold and hot water, coffee, etc. There is a grassy area on the side of the hotel to sit and relax with chairs and tables. The front porch is for the restaurant so you can't relax out there. Town is a fast walk- you cannot beat the location. Our room (16) had a very very small bathroom. That was probably the only downside of the place. It was very quiet in the back of the hotel even though the entire inn was sold out and the restaurant was packed. Spring Lake is a wonderful place and this hotel does a nice job. We will definitely be back.
