To get here from Phuket airport, we took a taxi, which took about 30 mins and cost 500 bhat. We had (I think) the cheapest type of villa, and it was enormous! A huge bed, a sofa and coffee table area, a little kitchen area (full size fridge with freezer compartment), cupboards, crockery, kettle, washing up liquid, an enormous bathroom with toilet, indoor shower, bath, outdoor shower, toiletries, flannels, towels. Outside we had a big patio area and our plunge pool (private as in just for us, but visible from next door's patio and the pathway). Our patio didn't have any seats on it, but we could see next door's did, so we asked at reception, and two sun loungers and a small table appeared within a couple of hours. The kitchen area was kept well supplied with drinking water, tea and coffee.
The main swimming pool is a fantastic two-level pool with great views, surrounded by sun loungers. Steps lead down to the beach (no handrails, so those not too steady on their feet may prefer to use the steps from reception instead). Whereas previous reviews have said the beach was unavailable, now it is certainly in use. When we arrived, there were a few sun loungers on the beach but the next day they weren't there (maybe that's the ones that were brought to our patio!). We saw people swimming in the sea from the end of the jetty. We tried from the beach, but the wet sand was quite muddy and in shallow sea we were up to our ankles in mud, so we retreated, it may be different at high tide. The pool is so great, I didn't mind not using the sea. You can walk along the beach and the rocks round towards the marina. There is a boat to Naka island, 1500 bhat (not sure if that's per person or per boat), book the day before. There are 3 bicycles for hire.
The pool bar has the same food menu as the main restaurant, but has a happy hour with 30% off most drinks. Service seemed to be quite slow at the pool bar (shakes took ages to arrive) but I think that is because they come from the main kitchen. Beer, etc, came more quickely. The restaurant does reasonable Thai food (didn't try the European food), curryh approx 250 THB, cocktails 250 THB, rum/gin 170 THB, shakes 140 THB. Note all prices are subject to 10% tax and 7% service. We ate in the restaurant and pool bar a couple of times, but often walked to the three nearby restaurants (two just round the other side of the boat repair/servicing yard) and one in the marina. Similar prices to the hotel or cheaper, but we liked the food better. There are also a few little shops, nearby, and an ATM and a taxi stall at the marina. You can also walk to Ao Po Pier where there is another ATM and a few touristy shops, and all-day boat rides and canoe trips.
We used the hotel car service to get from there to Bang Rok pier (for going to Ko Yao Yai) which cost us 500 THB. I think we could have got it slightly cheaper from one of the taxi stalls, but not that much difference.
Overally, the staff were very helpful, and the villa was lovely, and the main swimming pool was great. Not much to do round the area, but really nice to just relax, swim and wander for a few days. Would definitely recommend it.
