"Staycation for the weekend"

6.0

We stayed at ocean view pool villa and its one of the best staycations we ever had! We didnt leave our room at all! The room is huge you can even cook in the kitchen! The pool is like heated (or maybe coz the tiles are black?!) it was very nice and relaxing! The accommodation is a little bit dated but very good room sizes and stunning ocean views! Some parts of the beach is littered hope the staff finds time to clean it.

The location and ambience of this property are wonderful! It is the quietest place we have ever visited in Phuket - away from shopping, nightlife, and busy piers. We really enjoyed the solitude.

"Chandara"

2.0

There id 1 thing you need to understand about Chandara Resort and Spa.. It is a very long way and away from the rest of Phuket. Yoe are ""TRAPPED " here with out a rental car for private use and the ability to go to ANY beach to swim. Whilst we were here ,,, 9 days ,,, without a car we would have gone completely MAD. The resort is very tired and we had intermittent water and wifi and electricity,,, WE PAID A PREMIUM for a real lack luster return. That aside,, it is isolated and somewhat peaceful to come back too after being at the lovely beaches that are within 40 minutes drive,, and an easy drive too. The restaurant at Chandara offer the same food as on the "in room" menu and that is average to say the best, The main pool looks good but we never swam in it as with the constant water issues ( universal over Phuket at this time) we never ventured into it. There is an excellent place to eat but not on 'site' but a 5 minute walk named GALLERY CAFE and I cannot recommend it more for the unsuspecting customer that ends up here a Chandara. I may come back but only if I hear of a massive amount of money has been spent on basic infrastructure. Sad but true review. Mark D

"Awful "

2.0

What can I say.. I have never stayed in such a terrible accommodation.. The resort is dirty, it lacks maintenance, you can’t go to the beach because it is not clean.. it got the point that we had to buy towels to clean ourselves after shower because they kept giving us stained towels. We asked to speak with the manager and it was pointless. She doesn’t even speak good English.

"Great swimming pool, liked own little pool, nice for a few days"

8.0

To get here from Phuket airport, we took a taxi, which took about 30 mins and cost 500 bhat. We had (I think) the cheapest type of villa, and it was enormous! A huge bed, a sofa and coffee table area, a little kitchen area (full size fridge with freezer compartment), cupboards, crockery, kettle, washing up liquid, an enormous bathroom with toilet, indoor shower, bath, outdoor shower, toiletries, flannels, towels. Outside we had a big patio area and our plunge pool (private as in just for us, but visible from next door's patio and the pathway). Our patio didn't have any seats on it, but we could see next door's did, so we asked at reception, and two sun loungers and a small table appeared within a couple of hours. The kitchen area was kept well supplied with drinking water, tea and coffee. The main swimming pool is a fantastic two-level pool with great views, surrounded by sun loungers. Steps lead down to the beach (no handrails, so those not too steady on their feet may prefer to use the steps from reception instead). Whereas previous reviews have said the beach was unavailable, now it is certainly in use. When we arrived, there were a few sun loungers on the beach but the next day they weren't there (maybe that's the ones that were brought to our patio!). We saw people swimming in the sea from the end of the jetty. We tried from the beach, but the wet sand was quite muddy and in shallow sea we were up to our ankles in mud, so we retreated, it may be different at high tide. The pool is so great, I didn't mind not using the sea. You can walk along the beach and the rocks round towards the marina. There is a boat to Naka island, 1500 bhat (not sure if that's per person or per boat), book the day before. There are 3 bicycles for hire. The pool bar has the same food menu as the main restaurant, but has a happy hour with 30% off most drinks. Service seemed to be quite slow at the pool bar (shakes took ages to arrive) but I think that is because they come from the main kitchen. Beer, etc, came more quickely. The restaurant does reasonable Thai food (didn't try the European food), curryh approx 250 THB, cocktails 250 THB, rum/gin 170 THB, shakes 140 THB. Note all prices are subject to 10% tax and 7% service. We ate in the restaurant and pool bar a couple of times, but often walked to the three nearby restaurants (two just round the other side of the boat repair/servicing yard) and one in the marina. Similar prices to the hotel or cheaper, but we liked the food better. There are also a few little shops, nearby, and an ATM and a taxi stall at the marina. You can also walk to Ao Po Pier where there is another ATM and a few touristy shops, and all-day boat rides and canoe trips. We used the hotel car service to get from there to Bang Rok pier (for going to Ko Yao Yai) which cost us 500 THB. I think we could have got it slightly cheaper from one of the taxi stalls, but not that much difference. Overally, the staff were very helpful, and the villa was lovely, and the main swimming pool was great. Not much to do round the area, but really nice to just relax, swim and wander for a few days. Would definitely recommend it.

"Chill out at Chandara"

10.0

On the more remote side of Phuket and away from the tourist traps and traffic, this very lovely property is beautifully maintained with congenial and helpful staff. Access via taxi to any of what Phuket has but a place that is a respite from the traffic and crowds. Nice view of the ocean and great access to the island of Ao Phang Nga National park. We had an ocean view villa which was very comfortable especially with our own pool on the deck. We were there 5 days and 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. Would definitely stay at Chandara if we return to Phuket.

"Worked really well for us being near the marina!"

10.0

Quiet area of the island and a good spot for a few relaxing days. The area is fantastic if you want to get away from it all. large rooms with comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. Extraordinary fresh food at restaurants for lunch and dinner with both European and Thai style food. Perfect Hotel!

"3 night/4 day all inclusive package"

10.0

Booked the Chandara Resort and Spa and after some difficulty with onlie booking systems went straight to the resort and booked directly. Thet sold me a comprehensive all inclusive package which we couldn't use all of the items (i.e. airport transfers), but the staff were super efficient swapping items such as foot massage for a Thai massage, once my wife explained a broken fooot. We seemed to be one of only a few guests due to the wet season and the staff were extremely attentive. 10 out of 10. Room was very well appointed and spacious.
