The Reef at Atlantis

We celebrated 25 years of marriage. It was a wonderful quick getaway trip and our first time staying overnight in the Bahamas, but it 3rd visit. We had a fantastic time at the resort.

We really liked your hotel until we had a terrible three-night experience with the fire alarm going off around 3:00 AM. It ruined our stay and our vacation. My wife has been going through postpartum depression, and after these horrible nights, her panic attacks came back. We also traveled with our child, who became afraid and stressed after the first night because he worried it would happen again. Unfortunately, the day manager was not helpful at all. I had to go to the reception desk and ask for assistance. The first time I spoke with him, he said it would not happen again. The next time, I was told that he was in a meeting and would call me, but he never did. I had to go and look for him myself. For each night we had to go through this, he offered us $200, which is insulting. It is disappointing that someone in this position does not know how to handle such a situation. The overnight manager I spoke with on the phone was much more helpful and very apologetic about the whole situation. She was able to provide a partial refund, which we truly appreciate. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name. Our stay was from 5/3 to 5/11.

Been coming for 18 years and every time this place takes my breath away. Staff wears their hearts in their smiles. You feel at home in every way that matters. Atlantis community is special level of service. Even though renovations navigating though the changes has been made effortless for visitors. Home away from home!

The staff first off was amazing. 98% of everyone was super kind and helpful. Always smiling and saying hi.

Oh boy. Where do I start ? Well, upon entry to the room, it was disgusting. I personally had to deep clean the bathroom as there was a film of thick urine from who knows how many guests on the inside of the toilet lid. The room smelled of mildew the entirety of our week long stay. The shower head was moldy and the pillows, couch, outdoor furniture and indoor chairs were stained and disgusting. I didn’t even feel like I could sit on them without a towel. Underneath our fridge was cakes moldy and dry food. Now, with that being said, I did mention it the first day and those three issues were remedied. However, we got turned down service only two of the seven days which were supposed to include free waters.. never got those. Even after mentioning it to the manager, we still did not get turn down service for three nights in a row.. the property itself smelled very badly, which other guests indicated as well. The beach chairs that were supposed to be for the reef and Cove guests only were obviously a free-for-all, 85% of them were broken and disgustingly dirty, which shows that none of them are cleaned properly or maintained. At first, we were very excited to go to sea glass at the Cove to have caviar and martinis and to our dismay we were served martinis in a Tumblr glass while everyone else around us had martini glasses. And then we were looked at like jerks, asking to have our Martini in a martini glass. Not to mention the service around the pool and the beach area is pretty much nonexistent. We saw one person who asked us one time if we wanted an overpriced canned cocktail. In our 7 days on property. The only solar we found for good food was leaving the property…

We arrived 3 days ago, 2 adults, 61 & 62, no kids. Any room below the 5th floor should not be considered ocean view, we are on the 3rd and have a lovely view of the courtyard, pool, and palm trees. The ocean is barely visible through the trees. We have had trouble with the balcony door, bathroom facilities, recessed lighting not working, and the smell of weed. You can’t go out at night or in the morning on the balcony or you smell it, probably because we are on the 3rd floor. The saddest part though is the condition of the beach chairs, 70% are broken. We knew everything would be a bit pricey, and it is. The staff is nice, but getting them to fix things requires multiple (3) phone calls. Probably won’t come back again, but can say we stayed here.

great place for family & friends. I really enjoyed it. Water park. Dining. Beach. Boat trip to other islands with iguanas, pigs, and nurse sharks

The location is great, the entire complex/resort is big and full if activities, very nice maintained outside, a Paradise for kids, very nice the staff outside (lifeguards etc), lots to do especially with the kids. The Dolphin Cay was wonderful- dolphins and staff!

The rooms are old (we stayed at The Reef), the bathroom is smelly, part of the staff is unpleasant and not helpfull (the reception especially), they took double the money at the checkout even if told me they would use the deposit (he didn’t and kept the deposit and charged the entire amount), the food is the worse i’ve ever tasted in an island (we travel a lot), the prices are so high… for ess. 10 usd for 1lt of water, everything is overpriced and not worth the money. Poor quality for sky rocked prices. I recommend this resort only for a couple of days and only for the joy of the kids…

At first glance, this hotel is stunning! However I would never stay again. Already 2 nights out of our 5 night stay had "private events" which means a dj on the beach. Super loud until 11pm. For the price you pay to stay here, I am not impressed. We had a garden view, on the second floor and might as well have been part of the party. If you like that sort of thing then you may enjoy it, but I always ask for a quiet spot, and would have liked to go to bed after a long day in the sun. I think they should be discounting rooms close to the party. Or at the very least letting people know. Reminds me of a wedding I attended years ago where the guests had rooms directly over the dance floor. Other than this, it would have been a great stay. Lots of walking. Maybe choose the Royal? Or better yet, try Baha Mar.
