Surprisingly modern interiors to what could look rather tired on the outside. Brilliant breakfast Great gardens. Comfortable rooms

I know pool maintenance is required but unfortunately couldn't use pool on the morning after our stay.

The setting was really lovely. Peaceful and out in the countryside. The grounds could definitely be made more of a feature. The pool was great as was the sauna. The bar, food and staff were all brilliant, and the breakfast was fantastic.

There wasn’t really much to dislike. Although you enter through the country house, you quickly realise that most of the room are in a modern extension (although it’s very nicely done). The jacuzzi seemed to be blocked and covered-which was a shame.

We liked the room, the facilities were adequate, the bed was very comfortable. It was very hot weather but we did have a fan in the room. Breakfasts were good with enough choice for cereal, pastries and hot food. Staff fetched anything you asked for, which wasn't available, eg, a warm plate, poached eggs, or even a fresh fried egg. The staff kindly froze my ice packs and were happy to swap them over morning and evening for me.

The pool was quite small too be able to swim very much. WiFi connection was a big problem. We didn't have much signal in our room, or phoned kept disconnecting unless you stood by the window, and even then, it still sometimes cut out. I did mention it on our first night at reception, hoping we could be offered a different room, especially as we were staying for 6 nights, but no change of room was offered so we had to manage without. On our last night I even went to sit in the corridor to send messages as that was the only place I could get consistent connection.
