"If nice beach is a must, don't come"

6.0

Nice hotel, average food, average rooms, excellent service, average entertainment, small, and absolutely awful beach...totally unusable, brown and murky. Deal breaker

"Not impressed"

2.0

Do not book with the spa as it is virtually impossible to cancel after booking. Very rude and impossible to deal with once they have your signature and money. Paid 260$ for nothing as I was led to believe I successfully cancelled my reservation two days in advance of appointment. This was not explained to me when I signed the agreement after being pressured to do so. Customer Service was unapologetic and basically waived the agreement in my face and said we have your signature. The booking desk for excursions was helpful and we did not feel pressured purchase. THe resort is a bit run down and we walked by racoon feces on the steps for several days until the rain washed it away. The ocean front is unimpressive with little to no room and piles of seaweed line the beach. We will never be back. The resort is also overrun by racoons, although they are used to people, it is something you should know before you go.

"This hotel is only a 3 stars"

6.0

I am afraid I can not recommend this hotel. I have visited over 7 hotels in Mexico, and this is by far the worst experience and holiday I've ever had. On a positive note, the drinks do work, and the pools are fab. Mostly, the staff are amazing and want to serve you. However, the rooms are damp, and the food is okay, if this were a 3-star hotel, but it is claimed to be a 5-star hotel. While we were at the hotel, TUI downgraded this hotel from a 5 to a 4-star. We were a party of 4, of which 2 of us have been poorly for 10 days during the holiday and still have upset tummies after 2 weeks of getting home. We booked as Elbeso guests, which left us feeling undervalued. On day 1 I asked for a plastic table so we could play backgammon. A lovely worker got 1 for me, only to have it taken away 5 mins later by staff reporting that only privileged guests were entitled to a plastic beach table. In all other hotels we have stayed at, never before have I been told that a plastic pool table is a privilege. The daily booking of trying to secure a restaurant for the evening started at 10 am every morning. One of us would queue up at the customer service desk. The other 3 would attempt to use the app ( this was seldom successful). This usually took 4 of us 45 mins to book. The restaurants are ok but certainly not 5-star, and the food and service were hit and miss. The beach was the poorest I ever had in Mexico, with limited places for the Elbeso guests and most taken by the privileged section. If you're going to Mexico, please do not book here as you'll never go back, i was so happy to get home.

"El Beso Adults Only Coral and Turquesa"

8.0

This was our first stay at the El Beso adults section Ocean Coral. First impression of the resort……it’s nice. The resort is big but not overwhelming. All the restaurants and buffet are centrally located and the walk from our room (el beso adult section) was no more than a couple minutes. Check in was made quick and easy by the staff. . I have to say that the entire resort employs fantastic people. You have 3 pools plus a kids pool and the beach is easily accessible. The sand is soft and walkable in either direction…..although heading south towards Puerto Morelos is more scenic. The only downside is the water isn’t clear blue like the Playa del Carmen area. The water was dark and murky which wasn’t as inviting as previous trips further down the coast. Let’s talk about the important stuff. . The food was good but the Buffet was the same pretty much every time we ate there. There was only one station making Mexican dishes, which would only be one type of dish for that day/night. The bad news about the à la carte restaurants ….is the reservation process. Good luck booking a time. Their booking system is terrible. At 10:00am sharp you go online and pick a restaurant you want (day of only). The time slots appear which are limited and you pick it and wait to see if it gets approved. If you wait 2 minutes past the hour then you will probably see 5:00pm or 9:00pm to choose. Any time we ate at a restaurant there were plenty of empty tables but I’m guessing, not enough staff to allow for more reservations. The servers are some of the best I’ve encountered in all the trips over decades. The adults only section is nice. The pool is a decent size, with a restaurant just steps away. There isn’t a swim up bar but the restaurant has an area to get drinks. There’s only one waiter covering the beach and poolside, so sometimes you may wait for a drink. . His name is Ricardo and I’ve never seen an individual hustle so hard, all day. Sun loungers are limited at this pool, so I advise you to wake up early…. By 6:00-6:30am most of them are claimed with towels. I was down at 5:45am a few days and more than half of the loungers were taken. . Crazy right? This Hotel is clean and well maintained but would I stay again? Not anytime soon. I believe it’s rated a 4.5/5 star resort but I wouldn’t go over a 4. One thing I can say is that the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. If the price is right, you won’t be disappointed.

"DONT GET MARRIED HERE OR GO TO THE SPA. Everything else was good."

6.0

DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE OR GO TO THE SPA! Getting married here was expensive and you got nothing. I paid $100 for an up do with the spa for the wedding and all she did was brush dirty hair into a bun. When I said something to the manager they said it was extra to have the hair washed and blown out and when I told her that I did not like the hair she told me too bad. The wedding planner never responded to emails. For my dinner I wanted the Mexican a la cart but they said it was closed. I then chose the Italian where I shared the restaurant with all of the other guests in the hotel and had to pay $40 per person. Furthermore, that night we found out the Mexican was open. When we brought it up to the planner he did nothing either about the hair or the restaurant. The only items included in the cost was a plain wedding cake, sashes on chairs at the ceremony, and bouquet everything else was extra including adding a flower on the cake for $35. The spa DOES NOT refund your money once you book and they tell you that your massage is able to be paid out from your benefits and they are not for many insurance companies. The remainder of the resort stay was fine. The a la carts are understaffed but the food is good throughout or stay. The employees are very under paid but they were all kind. The entertainment was awesome and the rooms were a little outdated but nice. The sports and actives made our stay as they were fun and the staff were pretty incredible.

"Nice place, great employees. Food needs improvement."

6.0

Ocean Coral & Turquesa, November 29 thru December 9, 2025 We are members of the H10 travel club and have been for 12 years. We annually travel to this resort once a year and obviously like this location. My opinion of this trip, as always the staff is great! Individuals that we interacted with and should be commended by H10 management: Butlers: Brandon and Alberto are incredible employees and constantly interacted with us throughout our day, making sure we were happy and to see if there was anything we needed. A+ employees! All of the premium lounge/beach/pool employees are great. A shout out to Jose Lopez, Ricardo (pool bartender), Vitolino (Bartender at the premium lounge), Jasmine, Emmanuel, Miguel all made our experience great. These people made our trip better and keep us returning to this resort. Other employees that we had great experience with were, Jesus at the Blue Moon restaurant, the smiling bartender at the lobby bar (Mateo), and a big shout out to Yesenia, guest services. The employees at his resort are very good and make these trips stand out for us! Location is incredible, beach, pools are well maintained and the resort is very clean. Check in/out is good and we have no concerns with this process except for room assignments before arrival. The only compliant I have is the food. C+. Not B or A! Sometimes, I will say the meals are pretty good sometimes (breakfast), other times not so. Blue Moon Restaurant was the best food experience we had this time. Even though I like the buffet, this experience was weak. One night at 7 PM (opens at 6:30 PM), 75% of the Buffet had empty food containers. The response, we are busy. Management knows it going to be busy, do your job and plan accordingly. Management fails in this area!

"Bed bugs"

2.0

This place was the worst resort I have ever stayed at. This will be a long, but thorough and honest review. Upon arriving we tried to upgrade our room and the upgrade was a waste, but they made sure to get us to have a scheduled time the next day to try and sell us a membership. Which we were told would take only one hour, which then turned into 2 hours out of our day. Room was supposed to be stocked mini fridge which consisted of 2 waters a diet and regular Pepsi. No beer, no snacks nothering more and was supposed to be restocked daily, which it wasn't. The pillows were so big, they hurt our necks. I spoke to guest services who said they would get different pillows but never did. Upon arriving, there was such a foul smell in the room it kept me up at night. Again, called guest service and they said they would deep clean, but the smell was still present. They have speciality restaurants, which are impossible to make reservations with unless you speak with guest services to do so for you and ONLY on the day of. They do not take reservations for days in advance, and the restaurants aren't open every day. Service was slow at every restaurant, we would wait after being seated for a long time before even being greeted, then an even longer wait for the drinks to be delivered. I am not even talking alcoholic drinks. Simple a Pepsi and Iced tea. At the villa marina for lunch we waited 55 minutes to have our food delivered, which was a hot dog and shrimp tacos. On our 2nd day we started noticing bites all over our bodies, especially feet, ankles, hands. The bites were in lines and clusters consistent with bed bugs. During our 2nd nite we couldn't sleep. My boyfriend and I were itching so bad and noticing more and more bites on us. Now, we did see a lot of mosquitos in our room during our whole stay as well. But these bites were different. I am also family with no see-ums and these are not those. I called guest services and they said they would come deep clean the room. They showed up and went through everything and said they would fumigate the room but didn't find bed bugs. Sorry, but you can't always find them, unless there is a large infestation. We tried to sleep again the next night and could not as we were itching so bad again, and getting bit up. The next day, I found a bed bug on my boyfriend and took a picture. Called guest service again and they made me come to the room and watch them go through the room. Said they would deep clean and fumigate again...this process took over an hour out of my vacation again. More time spent away from what was supposed to be a relaxing time away to celebrate. More time on the phone with guest services and more time "watching" what they were doing. We were told they would deep clean the room daily. We'll, I squished a ton of mosquitos all over the room, windows, walls, mirrors...and every day they were still there. So to say the room was deep cleaned is a joke. Now I know bugs are normal in tropical areas, but there should not be an abundance of mosquitos flying around a bedroom. (Doors were always closed immediately and not left open). During all of these conversations and interactions with the resort not ONCE did they ever apologize or try to make things right. They offered "medical attention ". Which consisted of applying calamime lotion to the bites. Medical attention is not needed for bug bites unless an allergic reaction is taking place. I am fully caple of applying calamine or hydrocortisone cream myself. We barely slept the entire trip because of sleeping conditions and was never even offered to change rooms as an option, just add more chemicals and fumigate. On day 5, we found a tick in the bedroom, also took another photo. The bathroom supplies were not replenished daily as they should be. The shows at this resort were also below standard of any place I have stayed at. "Acrobat 's" that anyone in gymnastics for 2 years could do. Upon checking out, I was supposed to have a $50 resort credit from the original website I booked with credited to our room (which I planned to go towards the massages we bought). The guy at check out told me I should have gotten "ocean dollars " at check in, however I never did. At this point, I'm beyond fed up. I asked to speak with a manager and the guy told me I needed to speak with guest service...surprise surprise, once again. This time, it was someone new and he was very pleasant. He told me he could not do anything at the time because his boss was not in yet, because they were up late the day before planning for an event...but he assured me to email him and his boss with all the concerns and assured me that things would be made right. That maybe I would get the massages I paid extra for, or the room upgrade we paid for, or 50% off of our stay to make things right. He told me to go a head and pay what the balance was on our stay along with the resort fees and things would be made right. Well, I emailed them both the day after we got home with a fantastic response from the head of the guest service/hospitality. The response was empty, again unapologetic, disregard for everything I mentioned, not owning up for anything that we spoke about and went through for our trip. Pretty much saying they did nothing wrong and would not make anything right besides offering me a $150 credit for a future stay!!! After I already said, I would NEVER stay at their resort again. I feel very taken advantage of and lied to. We had a bad vacation and nothing offered to make things right. I would never recommend this resort to anyone.

"Excellent Butler Service"

10.0

We have been H10 members for about 15 years. Each time we are here it feels like home. This year we must send a shout out to Carlos our Butler in the El Breda section. He is amazing. Every request or concern was met with attentiveness and speed!! He checked in on us several times during his shift to ensure we had no problems. He booked all our dinners for us (even when we were initially a party of 9). He approached everything with professionalism and friendliness, and always had a smile on his face. Thank you Carlos for all your hard work ; it did not go unappreciated!!
