Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel

Overall, we had a great stay at the Sheraton Downtown Columbia. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and this was our second time staying here. When we first checked into our room, it was very warm because the air conditioning had been turned off, which was a little surprising for June. Fortunately, the room cooled down fairly quickly and wasn’t an issue for long. To end the evening, we visited the rooftop bar for a nightcap. The bartender, Christina, was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great suggestions. She recommended a delicious lemon cake dessert that was absolutely worth trying. The only downside to our stay was that there was no hot water in the shower. Aside from that inconvenience, we enjoyed our visit and found the hotel to be very comfortable. We would gladly stay again.

Overall a nice hotel with a lot of charm. It’s a little dated and can use some minor refurbishment. The staff is super friendly. Concierge lounge is good and always open. My only concern was that my door was loose and although it would close, it would loose and could easily be forced open. I asked them to fix it. Although it was fixed, it really wasn’t.

I had a pleasant stay. The team was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and conveniently accessible. One point of confusion: the front desk said government discounts require “orders.” In my experience, most hotels accept a valid government ID, so this policy was unexpected. Overall I enjoyed my visit, but clarifying the discount policy would improve the guest experience.

The front desk staff were wonderful - very friendly and very helpful. The valet parking team and service were also helpful.

Excellent location downtown. Wonderful service! The hotel used to be a bank. The architecture is cool. I stayed in a King bed room on the 16th floor. It was nice and cozy. 24hr valet service that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The club lounge was always stocked and attended when it was open. Will be my go to hotel when I stay in Columbia, SC from now on.

Always a great stay. We stay here often! The vault for breakfast isn't great and my sink was stopped up in #502, but other than that it was great!

Great stay as before. Clean, great location, Starbucks a plus, quick valet, and they followed my instructions to not place me near the elevator and on a higher floor.

I simply love this hotel. If you're looking for a minimalist modern monochromatic hotel - this probably isn't for you. If you want a friendly staff and nicely appointed traditional upscale hotel rooms (with modern bathrooms), this is for you. Location - AWESOME! Super close to the best shopping and the Statehouse; just a few blocks from the Vistas area. The USC campus is within walking distance.
