Somatheeram Ayurveda Village

So authentic, I loved the trees and the wooden cabins. The staff were so genuine with 5* service. Treatments were so good therapists were professional and I was so relaxed and taken care of.

Well maintained Ayurveda Resort. Staffs are very friendly and Helpful. the restaurant Staffs are providing good care. Very good Ayurveda treatment and Well experienced Docter and experienced Therapist. The pool & beach was very fabulous. Highly recommended the Ayurveda Resort.

Swimming pool was very nice, the person who was helping around at the pool was doing his work very well. We also appreciated the job done by the restaurant manager, Vimal Kumar, clearly has a background in hospitality.

We had issues starting from the check in, when we had to insist to get the cottage that we booked. The male manager who was assisting was extremely arrogant and unprofessional, he can’t be in hospitality business. Everything took time, from requests for a new towel till water refill. New towels were dirty, as if they were not washed but just sprayed and ironed. Bed linen was not changed daily as they claim and the cleaning, in general, was not done properly and always at odd times. Vegetarian food only was healthy but boring unfortunately, and so overpriced for what they serve. Yoga was chargeable. The property doesn’t have private beach. Our sleep was disturbed multiple times by other guests who decided to have a party at 12 am. We raised the issue but it was never addressed. Very careless of the staff. In general, Somatheeram caters to foreigners who never visited India before and have no idea of the food, culture, hospitality, prices, etc. I wonder how this place got the rating that it has on this website.

The treatments and the food was excellent! Service staff was very courteous & amicable.

The reception staff thinks they are over smart. They sold my room to somebody else and put me in a lower category room in a different resort. Overall, they see success with foreign travelers and hence take Indians for granted.

The treatments were great- the staff well trained and professional. I really enjoyed the veg meal buffets, but my husband found the food rather tasteless as it lacked spice. Catered more for a European taste probably.

The location was a bit out of the way for us and the beach wasn’t very nice.

Great place and wonderful setting with very friendly and helpful staff. The staff helped us and supported us in our request and were very fast and efficient in arranging cars and excursions. Nice breakfast spread.

Wi-fi was a bit spotty. Unfortunately we requested months in advance two rooms with sea view but they were not able to accommodate when we arrived. After much discussion we got the rooms we requested but far from each other. The bed came a bit apart (2 single beds pushed together).

It was a lovely stay in a beautiful setting - the huts were cool and quiet. The room was extremely comfortable and the staff were very accomodating. It was an incredibly relaxing place to stay.

I didn't realise that most people staying would be apart of a Ayervedic treatment stay (2-3 weeks). We only stayed 2 nights thinking it would be a normal resort, but we still enjoyed it.

Kind and knowledgeable staff. Great Doctors. All around, great service. I will definitely come back.

Outside each room, the seating area could have a ceiling fan to help with mosquitos.
