Fond Doux Eco Resort

The location in the rainforest is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are magnificent and I’ve never seen so many tropical fruit trees in one place. The staff is warm and inviting and they seem to sincerely care about the guests.

The stay is more like glamping and it’s not marketed that way. I was expecting a little more luxury based on the description. However my toilet didn’t work and my bathroom sink leaked. The facilities need some updating and a good cleaning.

Amazing to be right in the rainforest. The walk up to view the Piton (forget which one) was easily accessible. We also walked down to the sulphur springs (probably not advisable as walking on the main road is a bit hairy, but it was only about 40 minutes and we survived). Pools were good, clean and quiet whenever we visited. Clean pool towels are available at reception. Only one restaurant on site, but it was decent. We ate there both nights we stayed. The restaurant and bar staff were all really friendly. We had a room rather than a cabin, it was simple but clean and had everything we needed. Overall really our stay. Free range chickens, cats, other birds of all kinds and lizards on site.

The resort is a bit tired and some areas could do with better maintenance. Some bridges in the forest are a bit rickety for instance. Maybe it adds to the overall rustic charm, but it’s definitely on the basic/simple side. Didn’t impact our stay, perhaps would be a bigger issue if staying longer. Shuttle goes to sugar beach daily. We didn’t use it, as apparently it only goes once a day, so you’re kind of stuck there all day till it goes back again. Might be nice if it also went into Soufriere or other local places as the resort is very isolated.

The breakfast at Fond Doux is amazing Home cooking at it's best with a fantastic choice of fish, chicken, pulses, yogourt, coconut water and the delicious cocoa tea! It was easy to get to the beaches because of the shuttle and also so much to see and do at the resort- pool, nature walk, trail to see the pitons, making chocolate. The staff are so friendly and helpful and there is a generally respectful atmosphere which is so pleasant.

There were kittens in the roof that were a bit noisy one night!

Peaceful tranquil surroundings, surrounded by the amazing rain forest of south St Lucia.

Breakfast was not bad but some fruit other than melon would have been nice - and some healthy cereal and much better bakery

We didn’t realise how isolated the place was and how expensive taxis were to go anywhere. You need a car. Also the pictures in the website don’t give a realistic view of the place. Could not see the items in the pictures in the site. Also the dining menu is the same every night - maybe fewer dishes each night and more variation on different days. The Sam fish each and every night .

Beautiful property, wonderful and clean rooms. We had a villa with our own pool and outdoor shower. Awesome and kind staff. Welcomed with a refreshing drink and personally walked to our room. An awesome fresh and delicious breakfast buffet every morning.

Gorgeous grounds. Very simple clean cabins. Very comfortable stay for our one night layover.
