Heritage Grange at Thurston, Hotel

Food was out of this world, both Breakfast and Dinner. Delicious, well presented and plentiful.

The whole place looks a bit worn, really needs an injection of capital to update it. Nothing really bad, just old. We were placed on the top floor despite being nearly 78 years old with minor mobility problems. No Lift either.

So I recently stayed at the grange while working for a few days in the town The hotel is a bit out of the way which suited me fine I stayed on one of the lodges larger than I thought it would be and had everything I needed even a microwave which I didn’t expect The hotel is an old building as expected but great character and really nice staff Nice quiet bar with great selection of drinks and I loved the back ground music ( jazz fan ) However the stand out of this hotel is the food On my first night I had the lamb curry cooked perfectly could not have enjoyed it more My second night I had the chicken wrapped in prosciutto with vegetables it was amazing My only regret is I’m not a breakfast person but this is due to meeting another guest on my way out who told me the food selection and quality of the breakfast was the best he has ever had !! So wish I had tried it I would stay here again or even just come for the food if I was here again!! Thank you for a great stay Kevin

If I could give zero I would. I have a buy a gift voucher for afternoon tea. I’ve just called up to book and the guy on the phone was rude and said they don’t do afternoon tea but do have evening tea but he’ll have to call me back as he’s busy. I said don’t bother I’ll call back another day, but after reading other reviews I’ll book elsewhere. Clearly don’t want or need the business.

Came here for our anniversary with my partner just for 1 night . Was absolutely lovely , amazing to look at when you pull up in the car . Was greeted nicely when we walked in and quick service to our room . Our room was one that was in a cabin outside which was perfect for us as it was super quiet . Really nice and clean , comfy bed with a nice , big wet room with a huge shower . Tv , coffee and tea. Would definitely recommend for couples ! ❤️
