The quiet ambience.

The dinner menu didn't have much choice of vegetarian, but was ok. The breakfast menu choice however was great.

Loved every thing bedroom was very comfortable & breakfast was excellent & staff very friendly.

Very nice and quiet hotel - room was basic but did have a microwave!!!!! Stayed here overnight as I was working nearby. The hotel was very quiet for a December but the amenities weee very basic but I enjoyed my stay. The food was to die for - breakfast was made to order and my dinner was lovely but with just a bar that closes at 9:30 there was not much else to do but stay in your room. The hotel is remote so there is no entertainment near so it’s ideal if you want a quiet peaceful stay

Quiet, spacious room, friendly helpful staff, nice food in the restaurant. Old fashioned and quirky.

The WiFi didn’t work in my room. I used the comfy bar to work. The staff offered me a conference area to use but I was happy where I was.

Enjoyed an excellent evening tea courtesy of a birthday Buyagift voucher. The food was delicious and attractively served. Portions were generous and we left feeling full. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Recommended.

What a joke of a place. We arrived and couldn’t even get in through the door we had to ring to be let in. The greeting from said reception was very lack lustre and handed our keys for our room. When we walked in I thought it was a joke as I looked around, the windows were cracked and filthy. I went into the bathroom and greeted with a very tired broken bath panel and a very yellow rolled up bath mat which looked even worse encased in a white towel. To say the room was unloved was an understatement. Unfortunately we were running late for a function so didn’t make a complaint and thought we’d speak to somebody in the morning. Things the next morning got even worse, I went and took a shower which was over the bath and thought I’m going to have to use that slip mat. It was disgusting, it took ages for the hot water to come through and when it did it was rather pathetic. The bath mat was clearly not fit for purpose as I slipped and fell over the top of the bath onto the floor banging my ribs and right leg badly. This just about topped my day. We checked out and I told the lady who appeared from the breakfast room about the state of the room and my accident. She apologised and I said I wished to speak to the Manager. She said he wasn’t there and to e.mail him. Yes I did e.mail him and his reply was totally unacceptable he said I could see from their website what the room was like and I should have complained there and then despite my explaining we were running late for a function. As for the accident I should have rang reception to report it and the staff member could have called for medical assistance and an accident form completed. What a flipping joke of a place this was. I was told I would not get a refund. I gave the manager sufficient time to make amends, which he didn’t so hence my honest review and warning to others… don’t waste your money 😡

The room was well presented for us as a family with 2 beds - very nice and clean with a tv (if required). The breakfast was very well cooked and tasted superb. The grilled tomatoes were excellent.
