We brought home bed bugs after staying at this location. Will never return

Look. Nice place, can view the ocean. But any place where the restaurant and any beach eatery shuts down at 7:30 pm and they DO NOT TELL YOU at check in that you’re out of luck for dinner is severally lacking in the humane department. Last year kitchen closed at 9. Now it’s 7:30 pm. Yes, before sundown. No knowledge, no heads up. You’re on your own here. They act as if we should just go with it.

Loved this place - peaceful, beautiful ocean and golf course views from our room in Building 4. Large villas, comfortable beds. Great meals at the onsite Nanea Restaurant, including a nice Mother's Day buffet. Pools and hot tubs were kept clean from the Nene's. Staff was friendly, although the concierge service was lacking... A few things I wish I would have known ahead of time: - Guests get day access at 1 Hotel's beach. We valet parked for free, had lunch at their restaurant then took the elevators down to the beautiful, quiet beach on the side of Hanalei Bay. - Rental chairs and umbrellas are available to rent at the Westin for exploring area beaches. That is much easier than driving to rent at Kapaa or Hanalei Bay -Wyillie's Beach (end of Anini) is accessible by a steep walk down from the Westin's parking lot, right before the entrance. It's a beautiful calm(er) beach with good snorkeling.

This was a very basic time share resort. No bellmen, no pool bar and it is not on the beach. We stayed in building 2 and it was very clean and I think recently updated. The resort pool is very pretty and there are plenty of lounge chairs. The Nene (Hawaiian Geese) are a bit annoying and poop all over the place. Maintenance workers do come by and sweep up poop, but it gave me the icks. We were only there for 3 nights which was perfect, There is only one restaurant at the resort and a very small marketplace to purchase snacks, coffee and other necessities. I can honestly say if I went back to Kauai I would not stay there.

An exceptional resort on Kaua’i’s North Shore. On a promontory overlooking the ocean, these villas surround pools and beautifully manicured gardens. The villas themselves are fully equipped. Home from home (maybe, better than most homes!!!) and while you can do your own cooking in the villas or at the grills dotted about the grounds, there is also a cozy restaurant on site and a fitness centre, too. The staff sets this place apart. They are all charming and helpful. Nothing is too troublesome. A car would be very useful to visit all the beautiful sites on the Island. You are sure to have a splendid time here.

My husband and I signed up to go to this resort through a Marriott vacation club. We put down a deposit of $200 but my husband got ill and could not go. Ricardo was kind enough to give us a refund. He was very nice, very understanding and is an excellent representative for the Marriott l vacation club. Thank you Ricardo

Horrible vacation ownership trade! We found 3 roaches crawling in the kitchen and bathroom. We told the manager, showed him a video and he just said, “Sorry, I’ll tell the engineer” then walked off. We checked out early.

During our stay at the Westin Vacation Club in February 2026, we were exposed to roof‑cleaning chemicals while sitting on our patio, with active spraying occurring directly above us and no barriers, warnings, or restricted access below. The chemical made contact with my skin and produced a strong odor, raising immediate health concerns. As a retired chemical engineer, I was particularly alarmed by the risk of aerosolized chemicals, which can pose respiratory and skin hazards—especially for seniors, children, and immunocompromised guests. Chlorine‑based solutions interacting with roof biofilm can also create harmful byproducts, and runoff was observed flowing to ground level where birds and ducks were present. Despite reporting this promptly and requesting basic chemical safety information, we never received it. Even more concerning, similar unsafe cleaning practices continued on nearby buildings. We were told by Marriott to expect a response within 3–5 business days, but more than a month later we have heard nothing. This raises serious concerns about guest and animal health and overall safety practices at the resort. As Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members for years, we are incredibly concerned and do not recommend staying at this resort.
