The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas

BEWARE OF BED BUGS!!! The resort is absolutely lovely, great pools, condos are big and comfy. Unfortunately, we encountered bed bug infestation in our 2-bedroom condo in Building 6. When I called the management, they were dismissive and in denial. This is a horrible way to deal with a public health issue such as bed bugs. Anybody staying at this resort in 2025, take all the necessary precautions, avoid Building 6 at least.

Mena from the activities hut helped make our day at the Westing happen. She listened to me, she trusted me, and she arranged for our family to have a pool day at the Westin during our Kauai vacation.

Beautiful resort with spacious accommodations! Stayed at the Westin in June 2025 with my 12 year old son and enjoyed a wonderful vacation. Our room was in building 3 and was beautiful and well appointed with a wonderful kitchenette and large bathroom. We picked up some groceries and it was convenient having the full size refrigerator. The grounds are lovely - if you are staying here, set your alarm to enjoy the sunrise! I walked outside my building just a few steps each morning and was floored by the beauty - even on days with brief showers! And, take time to walk over to the northwestern side of the property (adjacent to the golf course) for a beautiful sunset. We enjoyed a day at the pools, and able to get a chaise lounge to relax. The Westin has a Nene patrol to keep the area clean, and did not see an issue with poop that other reviews have claimed. There are some beautiful beaches we visited in the area each day, and found our location to be convenient. There is an outdoor shower near the outdoor restrooms by building 3 that we could rinse off sand, before returning to our room. Enjoyed the convenience of the mini market for coffee and snacks. The staff around the resort are friendly and helpful. Overall, a beautiful, quiet relaxing resort with stunning sunrises /sunsets.

The Resort was absolutely stunning, the staff were friendly, helpful & accommodating! Highly recommend staying here, the rooms were perfect, view was breathtaking, the pool areas were fantastic & our evening meal was fabulous !

If I had children and desired nice swimming pools for them, I would find another resort. The 2 main pools here are closed as I write this. No people in these pools, but the geese are there! Geese are everywhere, and they poop everywhere. I have repeatedly seen children stepping in poop at poolside. The resort does their best continuously cleaning, but it is a near impossible task. I will never come here again.

Good friends of mine recommended that I at least spend an afternoon at The Westin Princeville Resort and it was a goof way to spend a few hours for sure. After a poolside lunch, I changed into my swimwear and headed to the beach for an hour of sun and sand. The resort’s beach is small but incredibly peaceful, and I was lucky to get the sun I did! On the down side, the property felt rundown a bit and through no fault of their own, I don't feel that side of the island is as beautiful as the south.

My friend had a wedding at the main lawn. Perfect night! Perfect Location! Amazing service . Abby was amazing! She accommodate us well and made the wedding set up perfect! Naomi, Bryan and Mike are great servers. If you are looking for a wedding dinner , wedding venue! Westin Princeville is perfect place to be !

The Westin is a special resort that is quiet, relaxing and a reminder of what old Hawaii was like. After spending a week on the South Shore we appreciated the laid back and again, quiet, nature of the hotel. The pools are numerous and clean. The landscaping is gorgeous and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. My husband and 3 grandchildren had a wonderful week. Many beaches near by, Annini is walkable from the resort. And Hanalei is the cutest town on the island, just a 10 min drive. Lots of shops, shave ice and restaurants in Princeville and Hanalei. We will be back next year!

I’ll forever be dreaming of this property & the island of Kauai! We’re from Scotland so came a long way to visit, so glad we did. We were lucky enough to share a friend’s lock-off with them. The property grounds, pools, walkways, landscaping are all beautiful! We were delighted with our room with little kitchenette, full sized fridge & jacuzzi tub! Super comfy bed & balcony! I loved the tiki torches at night! Just bliss! Kauai is the most beautiful place we’ve been. Minor points - yes there are ne-ne & chickens & their subsequent poop is dotted around. They have people dedicated to cleaning it up. It’s not a big deal, really. I wish the restaurant had been open for breakfast. The Starbucks/deli had some breakfast sandwiches they would heat for you but they were shockingly expensive & not good. Our room was cleaned/made up once within the week, I would have liked at least one more clean. I don’t think guests should be allowed to ‘reserve’ all the shaded sun loungers by throwing towels or bags on them & then leaving them for hours before using. This was frustrating. Besides these minor points, I adored this property & hope one day to return!

I think that the housekeeping and customer service was great. They went above and beyond to help us out. 4 starts because we had a fire alarm test ignoring Do Not Disturb signs. Also 10:00am is a very inconvenient checkout time. I didn’t realize it was more of a timeshare owned property and I feel there are some negatives that come with that. Positives were a fridge, nearly full kitchen and washer and dryer.
