Villa Romana Hotel & Spa

First of all, we found this to be the perfect location for exploring minor, maiori and further afield. It’s such an easy stroll to the beach, boat stand, etc. The decor is very pretty, particularly impressive is the bougainvillea covering in the restaurant. We were in room 104 which is road-side and next to the stairwell. The room was spacious but oh my god the noise! I wish we’d asked to move, we didn’t get a full night of sleep the entire week because of the mopeds and other guests having no regard for their noise levels when returning from the bar... The other drawback is that there were no supplies in the room other than the mini bar. I feel if you’re charging this much for a hotel room, the least you could offer is a kettle and some tea/coffee gear. Beds were pretty rigid, too. Felt quite simple for how much you’re paying. Breakfast was served 7-10 I believe, which is a generous window. Once seated, you can order fresh proper coffee from the bar (which was wonderful). Breakfast was nice but quite a small offering. We didn’t touch the hot breakfast and stuck to pastries, fruit and yoghurt, etc. my husband fell in love with the lemon cake and resorted to having it every day. The croissants were lush. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner there, however we did enjoy a few drinks in the bar one evening and have to say, the espresso martinis were incredible (trust me, I’ve tried a lot!) You do have to book the pool, but it was never a problem we always managed to get two beds. The pool area is lovely and the lady that operates it is fantastic - very smiley, kind and helpful. Overall, a lovely stay in Minori but a few little things let it down.

My wife and I stayed here between 8-10 October and I have to say it’s a lovely hotel. Set in a great location in Minori. Giving easy access to the ferry port and the lovely little town center. And great access to Sal de Riso and the wonderful cakes and food it offer just some the street, don’t miss it. The room was lovely and clean. The bed was very comfy and plenty of space in the room to move about also had a balcony to watch the town go by. The staff were very helpful and courteous and the cleaners very prompt. The place is very well kept and clean. We got breakfast with our room and there was plenty of choice to please everyone and the dining room was very well decorated and spacious, the waiting staff were also very helpful and friendly. This is a great base to explore the Amalfi coast region with easy access to Amalfi, Ravello and positano via ferry transfer, bus or moped. We hired a moped from the easy bike rental on the side street from the hotel and it was great. We got into positano in about 50 minutes. The streets are very windy but if you take it steady you won’t have any issues and the views are awesome riding along the coast, great value rental too. The hotel was well priced and I would absolutely recommend it to friends and family. Minori itself is a real hidden gem!. Away from The hustle and bustle of the busier Amalfi and positano it was great to relax after a day exploring and there is plenty of choice for drinks and food. Thanks for a great stay

Visited with a tour group. Charming family owned hotel with beautiful furnishings. Very central location within easy reach of restaurants, coffee places, shops, and short walking distance to the waterfront and pier. Nice buffet breakfast starting at 7AM; no coffee available before. Rooms have safe.

The hotel is beautiful with a lot of attractive, inviting public areas. Our room was lovely, spacious and well-equipped, with a balcony overlooking the pool area. The large bed was very comfortable. It was well-serviced and clean. There was plenty of room in the wardrobe, but only 1 drawer each. The bathroom was nice with a good shower over the bath. We could hear the conversations of people in adjacent rooms and also on the corridor, but other guests were not noisy and did not keep late hours. The dining room was large, pleasant and relaxing. It was well run by the very professional maitre d' and his team. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of cooked food which we found delicious and hot. There was also an amazing range of food for continental breakfast. We particularly liked the jugs of coffee and hot milk, which could be refilled on request. At dinner, there were 3 courses, with a choice of 3 dishes for each. All of these were appetising and we had trouble choosing which ones to have. We enjoyed all the dishes we were served. We didn't need to use reception much, but most of the people we spoke to there were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is conveniently situated about a five minute walk to the beach, promenade and ferry port in Minori, which is a lovely, small town with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. You can easily see it all in half a day and we would recommend taking lots of trips to see the beautiful surrounding area. Ravello was our favourite, with an outstanding villa to visit, very calm and relaxing. The roads are narrow, winding and busy. We don't recommend driving! We were there for a week and the high standards never varied during the whole of that time.

The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel and rooms were very clean and at the top end for a tourist hotel There was a limited but excellent choice of food in the restaurant, served by very pleasant staff. The pool area and lounge were also excellent.

Our stay was enjoyable. Not a fan of the pool reservation requirement or the grumpy head waiter at breakfast. Rooms were nice and clean. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Hotel is close to restaurants shopping and the sea.
