It was a beautiful building in a great location.

Although the building was beautiful, this felt like a 4-star hotel at best.  The food was just okay, nothing special at all. And the staff were a bit odd. They were not only quite overbearing, but also seemed quite sad to be there. Two hours after arriving while me and my husband were having dinner, the waitress asked me to leave her feedback on their website there and then and stood watching me with my phone out. I told her I'd prefer to leave feedback at the end of my stay, not 2 hours in.  The manager was also quite odd. On our second night we were having dessert and out of nowhere he appeared and insisted me and my husband try their hoppers (egg pancake and onion). He literally pulled my chocolate cake away from me and placed this egg and onion in front of me and insisted we eat it - really weird.  The amenities in the rooms are also super basic. They were not soundproof at all - we could hear the gardener sweeping the entire 3 nights we were there. There was no plug socket next to the bed so we had to charge our phones on the other side of the room, and the bathroom needed a bit of a makeover. Also, the TV didn't work. It's the small things that really make a difference in hotels, and this hotel just didn't have it.

Staff was super friendly and helpful the room was quiet and clean

The restaurant option was not so good if you compare it with the salary especially for the dinner
