Best hotel we have stayed at. Amazing location, friendly staff, really great breakfast, and best of all, it felt really quiet. We stayed in a family suite and I would totally recommend.

"What an amazing place to stay in Jersey."

10.0

What an amazing place to stay in Jersey. Forget St Helier, and St Aubin. L’Horizon is right on the beach in St Brelades. The bus stop is right across from the entrance and we got around all week using the buses. We were lucky with the weather and it was like being in Spain/Greece etc, without all the tourists. Was lovely and quiet. The staff are amazing, the food equally so, breakfast unfortunately was amazing (we put weight on it was so good). The spa was a real treat, we had treatments and both loved it. I can think of nothing negative, other than to say the bedroom needed a slight update, but it was very clean and perfectly formed. Loved Jersey, the hotel made it very special. We highly recommend.

"Overpriced £20 Glass of Wine and Unreasonable Manager."

2.0

I visited L'Horizon Terrace for a quick lunch and ordered a medium glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I was told they don't serve Sauvignon Blanc by the glass and was offered a medium glass of Sancerre instead. Unfortunately, the Sancerre wasn't chilled and tasted like it had been open for a while, lacking the fresh, crisp quality I expected. When the bill arrived, I was stunned to see a £20 charge for the medium glass of Sancerre, nearly doubling my bill as my main course was only £26. To make matters worse, I later noticed on the menu that a glass of champagne was just £13.95, significantly less than the Sancerre. I wasn't informed of the Sancerre's price upfront, which felt misleading given its poor quality. I told the waitress I wasn't willing to pay £20 for such a disappointing experience and offered to pay £10 instead. After consulting her manager, she informed me that I would still be charged the full £20. The manager's refusal to compromise, despite the overpriced and subpar wine, was infuriating and unacceptable. This frustrating experience has convinced me not to return to L'Horizon Terrace. There are far better dining options in St Brelade's Bay that offer fair pricing and better customer service.

This was our second visit and we weren’t disappointed. Fabulous hotel, very family friendly and for those looking for a quiet break - it suits everyone. Can’t find any faults. What really makes this hotel stand out though are the team they have working there who all provide an exceptional and friendly service.

This was our 4th visit as a family and it didn’t disappoint! St Brelade’s Bay beach was just as beautiful as ever but what really made this another great stay was the hotel - incredibly clean and comfortable and the amazing staff who can’t do enough for you. We love it here and will be back!

"Good"

6.0

Let’s start off with the positives. The staff are excellent. We enjoyed the food, very much. The bay is beautiful. If you go out of the back of the hotel and turn right, a short walk along the promenade will take you to some shops and restaurants that are well worth a try. Go a little further and you will find the most interesting Fisherman's Chapel next to St Brelade's Parish Church. So, why only three stars from me? First off, our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking a scruffy flat roof with some dinner plates on it, ductwork and rotting windows, no balcony, no sea view. Being at the front of the hotel, it was noisy with traffic especially as there was bus stop was right outside our window. This resulted in us being woken up early, as the buses sat there with their noisy engines running for a couple of minutes, whilst passengers got on and off. We ended up having seven nights of poor sleep. We asked a number of times if we could move rooms, but were told nothing else was available. We asked the travel company if we could move hotels, but were told the same, even though we had found accommodation elsewhere. One lesson here for us is to never ever book a package holiday again. Had we booked the hotel ourselves, we would have just left and gone elsewhere. Still on the room, there were no power sockets by the bed for us to plug a USB cable or charger in to. This made it tricky to keep our phones charged. Like a lot of people, we often look at our phones and listen to an audio book last thing at night. We often check them during the night to know what time it is, and again first thing in the morning, so it was tricky not to be able to charge them next to the bed. Generally, the hotel is looking tired. In the main dining room, the curtains all look like they're coming down. The edgings of the steps between rooms are coming off. The whole place could do with a deep clean, some new carpets, a coat of paint, and so on. Whilst it's absolutely lovely on the back terrace overlooking the bay, there isn't that much space there. Certainly not for a hotel with over 100 rooms. Case in point is that there are only eight or so sunbeds on the terrace. Okay, you can get a free sunbed on the beach, but it'll the cost you £5 for a small umbrella. My final gripe is that whilst we were there, there was a business meeting being held in one of the rooms just off the lobby and overlooking the back terrace. For four days those not in the meeting, but part of the event, hogged the dining tables in the bar lounge where the windows overlook the bay, and stared at their laptop screens or yakked on their phones for the whole day. The hotel is huge so why not make them have their meeting and breakout area at the other end of the hotel in one of the empty unused rooms, rather than where other guest would have chosen to sit? I did note that after four days of meetings, the room that had been used, was returned to a dining room with the lovely bay view rather than a huge TV screen and post-it notes everywhere!

"An absolute Gem found right beside a lovely wide beach which will give you great childhood Vibes & an enchanting memory"

10.0

From the first moment you walk in this hotel you encounter an air of curtesy & a friendly professional manner . Thereafter it just gets better ! The bar & staff have a warm convivial air The Dining Rooms both on the Terrace & are comfortable, the choice and presentation of food is outstanding. Two of the evenings we were entertained by "the Brightside Duo" just a delight ! Small requests or anything at all was helpfully & attentively dealt with . All the team are outstanding & show genuine care for Guests' comfort but we do remember, Dan, Carina & Denisa being totally lovely ! Honestly we can't wait to go back -to walk on the perfect soft white sand , enjoy the beautiful sea view & savour the calm & peaceful oasis that this wonderful hotel serves up. An absolutely fantastic find .

"Stunning Views, Outstanding Service, and Amazing Dinner — But Breakfast Needs Work"

8.0

We’ve just returned from a stay at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in Jersey, from Thursday to today, staying in an ocean-view room with a balcony on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, overlooking arguably the best bay in Jersey. The views from our balcony were breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of the sea each morning was a real highlight. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was large and very comfortable. We also appreciated the nightly turndown service. It’s perfectly placed for exploring, with several good restaurants and bars nearby and easy access to other bays offering even more dining options. We dined at the hotel restaurant one evening and the food was outstanding. We had the Moules à la crème, and it was the best we’ve had in a very long time — absolutely delicious. Service during dinner, as throughout the hotel, was excellent: attentive, friendly, and professional. The only real downside of our stay was breakfast. While there were plenty of options, both buffet-style and à la carte, the quality just wasn’t there: On the first day, I ordered smoked salmon with a poached egg, requesting a soft/runny yolk, but received a hard yolk instead. After sending it back, I tried a vegetarian breakfast, but the egg arrived undercooked with raw whites. The next day, I ordered smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and my wife ordered eggs Benedict, both asking for soft yolks. Sadly, my scrambled eggs were dry and hard, like mashed hard-boiled eggs, and my wife’s eggs were overcooked as well. After that, I gave up on hot breakfasts and stuck to pastries for the rest of our stay. Despite this, I have to say the staff were brilliant. They genuinely cared and tried to make things right, offering us complimentary drinks on the terrace as an apology, which we really appreciated. Overall, we loved L’Horizon for its stunning location, beautiful rooms, and outstanding dinner experience. We’d definitely consider staying again and hope the breakfast improves, as it was the only thing that let an otherwise wonderful stay down.
