The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were always nice and friendly. The restaurant in the hotel, Johnny's Italian Steakhouse was amazing!

It had been a few years since we last stayed there. Some of the hotel was showing some wear and tear. The most noticeable was a musty smell from the ac.

Staff was great and very clean and fun!

Fun place - loved the fire pits, retro decor and highly recommend eating at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse in the hotel. Prime rib was delicious and reasonable price point.

The Rewind West Des Moines is an ok hotel. It has some great points such as location, $13.95 buffet breakfast, great bar in the Italian Restaurant, king studios (has a door to the bedroom so great if someone is up late or has to work and needs quiet space). But that being said, the sound of the heat and especially a/c units is deafening. My husband and I even used ear plugs and we were awakened all night when the a/c kicked on like a locomotive. It’s too bad because it woulda coulda been great.

The Rewind seems quite high class and caters to guest who want a fine accommodations experience. It has an attached Italian steakhouse that the hotel heavily promotes. We didn't eat there but we did smell it in the hotel common areas and it smelled great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby was great. It featured a turntable with real vinyl records - a great teaching experience for kids. The hotel's theme features old time musicians like Sinatra, etc. in its common areas and room decor. We had a King Suite which featured a separate BR with a King Bed and a Living Room with pullout Sofa bed. The suite had plenty of space which we appreciated but there were a few flaws. The bathroom while large and well appointed was not in good working order. The shower was a not very strong and the fixtures were very loose. It felt as if they were going to come out of the wall. And in the kitchen area, there's enough room to help prepare some food but the kitchen accessories were very limited. A few plates and cups. Not much else. Overall, the hotel looks great and has pretty decent rooms but it lacks the finishing touches to make this a truly high class experience. The hotel is a good option but be prepared for some possible setbacks.
