Palm Royale Resort - Soma Bay

I went to Soma Bay for a week in late May 2026. I wanted to refresh my windsurfing skills, which had been idle since the 90s. I chose to rent equipment from Surfmotion, and then decided that it would be easiest to stay at the hotel most nearby - Royal Palm Resort. So I arrived with few expectations. I was there to windsurf, not to have a typical sun holiday. But after one week, I was sad to leave. Not only for the fantastic windsurfing location, but for a really great time at the resort. It is 24h full comfort, and I think most of all, only smiles and courteous behavior from all of the staff. You feel very welcome and well-treated as a guest! There is a wide variety of food at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and evening. I like healthy food, and there was always plenty of salads, fruits and fulfilling meat and pasta. Beer and drinks, provided in all inclusive, made my trip less healthy, but highly enjoyable after a day on the water. The room we booked was big, and overlooked the bay where the surfers and kiters were. A nice way to wake up. There is only a 5-10 minute walk from restaurant of the hotel to Surfmotion, so no rush after breakfast, and no rush to go back for lunch if you should think that it’s more important than time on water. The hotel has a gym with plenty of machines and weights. Also, there are good hard-court tennis courts. Bring your own racket if you are a serious player.

Wonderful experience! The hotel is situated in paradise beach. The rooms, service, food, everything was excellent. The animation is not very loud so you can get rested properly. The people who work there are so nice. We will definitely come back!

The atmosphere is great, calm, never crowded because the resort is so big, the beach is beautiful, lot of privacy everywhere. Security in the hotel is high level. Staff is very polite, professional and at service all the time. Food is amazing. Everything is nice and clean, very classy vibe everywhere. There is so much fun things to do beside swimming and enjoying the beach. Definitely planning to go again next year 😎

Everything was perfect during the stay. Various activities, hygiene at a high level, pleasant and helpful staff, special praise for the best waiter Youssef. We will definitely come again.

Wonderful esperience, it's the most beautiful resort I have ever seen. Really very very clean everywhere, even in the bathrooms downstairs in the hall. Everybody so kind and nice, more than wonderful, the best I saw. I surely will come back soon, it's a dreaming place

We had a very pleasant stay overall and really enjoyed our vacation. The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere and the rooms are excellent (5/5). They are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. We had no complaints about the rooms themselves, although housekeeping could be a bit more consistent and regular. The staff deserves special praise. The reception team, bar staff, and animation team were all fantastic (5/5). Everyone was friendly, helpful, and contributed to a great holiday experience. The entertainment activities were enjoyable and well organized. The beach is absolutely amazing (10/10) – crystal-clear water, very clean surroundings, and comfortable sunbeds. The pool area is also great and well maintained. As for the food, I would rate it 4/5. The quality is good, but the menu tends to be repetitive, especially during longer stays. It would be nice to have more variety and some snacks available during the day, such as peanuts or other light bites. Also, there could be a larger selection of fresh fruit during lunch. One thing that was a bit annoying was the number of people constantly approaching guests to sell excursions and additional services. They can be quite persistent. Fortunately, there is also a quieter area where you can relax, although access to the sea there is through the rocks. Regarding the à la carte restaurants that require reservations, in our opinion they are not really worth booking, as the dinner served there is very similar to what is already offered in the main restaurant. Overall, we had a great time. The beautiful beach, excellent staff, comfortable rooms, and enjoyable atmosphere made our stay memorable. With a little more variety in the food and fewer sales approaches, this hotel would easily deserve a full 5-star review.
