Marriott's Monarch at Sea Pines

Location is excellent - right next to the beach. Rooms are spacious and very nicely equipped. Especially appreciated having an in-room laundry. Also nice to be close to Beachside Restaurant.

So... A disclaimer: We are owners here for 20+ years and come back every year. Marriott has never failed to impress us with this property. It is a quiet oasis in an otherwise hectic life. A touchpoint in our year. The grounds and the gardens are lavish and lovely. The pool is a hub of activity. Our kids (and now our grandkids) grew up there, They learned to swim there. rode bikes, played tennis, built sand castles. Made memories. I am sometimes reluctant to write a nice review for a stay (since I don't want the hotel to get too busy..) but since I own here and have the same week every year I can write this without hesitation. Stay here if you can. Bring a swimsuit and flipflops.. you will need them. In some properties, you feel like you are packed in like rats but not here. Somehow they make it feel secluded and special.

To cookie cutter. Room not ready till 3:45. Communication re the room was like I was asking for the code to Neuclear weapons. No flexibility on check out even if I was staying for less than 24 hrs and of course the hard sell on vacation package. Will never return.

The beautiful grounds and proximity to the ocean, great place to walk on beach and in the community. Very friendly staff and quite helpful.

I wish they had coffee and donuts, just a simple breakfast on site. No complaints, we loved it! We have stayed there about six times. It is our favorite HH spot.

This 2 Bedroom garden view unit was recently updated with very stylish furniture. The balcony was perfect for lounging and dining. A very short 2 minute walk to a beautiful wide beach. Different activities offered such as wine glass painting, story telling & magic display, and wine & cheese gathering at the gazebo. Some activities had a nominal charge. We had dinner reservations and gold tee times made during our 4 night stay that worked out perfectly. Staff was very nice and friendly as you would expect in SC! Will definitely stay here again. All the restaurants in Sea Pines were wonderful.

A great family resort.. Plenty of activities for the children. Clean, spacious, large hot tub with a water wall, two pools, and right on the beach ! Condo was roomy with new furniture and a fully furnished kitchen. On Sea Pines next to the beach club with a free trolley stop right out front. Ride to Harbor Town or South Beach. Everything was perfect including our view of the ocean and the pools from out 4th floor balcony. We will be going back.

My husbands family has been coming here since the 80s. It’s our favorite places to go! We appreciate the new upgrades and amenities on site. I do think there is room for improvement in a few areas. One, routine maintenance needs to be stepped up. When we arrived it was extremely hot in our villa. We thought maybe it just needed time to cool down. We waited an hour and still the temperature was rising fast. With a newborn baby we grew concerned and called the front desk. Maintenance did arrive promptly. They discovered the air filter had not been changed in a VERY long time. It was completely clogged and covered in thick dust. So much so, when they tore it out it looked like a dog got to it. It didn’t want to come out because of how clogged it was. They thought that was the main issue. However, it still kept rising in temperature. We mentioned maybe it needing Freon, and it did! They went up to the roof and quickly filled it up with Freon. Then it cooled down nice in the villa without any further issues. I couldn’t help but think all week about how dirty that air filter was and the germs that could still be float around in the HVAC. Gross! Especially during these times and having a newborn. This is something maintenance should be checking monthly. We also noticed how badly the pool furniture needs replaced. It’s really fading and looking very worn. In addition, we love the updates across the board but the kitchen really needs updated. Also, on the patio, the wood framing/ledge is starting to separate from the wall of the patio, large gaps - it either needs replaced or caulked. One other thing, the hammock on the left needs to be tightened or replaced. No matter who sits in it, you butt touches the sand and it’s not very relaxing. As always everyone that works at this resort is 5 star and SO friendly and helpful! I can’t say enough about them!

It’s a beautiful property with easy access to the beach. Very clean and great layout.
